Halo Infinite’s new approach to its campaign has been an absolute success in the light of Halo 5’s story. With this return to greatness, but with an open world twist, there are a lot of moments in the game that foreshadow future events. One of the most anticipated fights, even from the beginning of the campaign, is Chak Lok and his Tower. We will show you how to easily beat Chak Lok in Halo Infinite.
Chak Lok’s Tower
This scenario consists of several floors, with the entrance being out in the open world. The courtyard is heavily guarded and requires Master Chief to activate several control panels to re-enable the gravity lift. You can prepare to storm the front gates at a FOB. You may even want to get an entire squad of heavily armed marines to follow you.
Sadly, even if you have lots of Halo Infinite marines with you, they do not follow you up the gravity lift into The Tower to help you beat Chak Lok. Once you make it inside, the linear part of the level begins.
Within the Tower
The Tower has four levels you must ascend. You will find that each floor is dark and partially lit with ominous red lights. Make your way up to the third level, and after a major cut scene, you will receive the Threat Sensor.
Chak Lok’s fight revolves around this brand-new equipment. If you have any Spartan Core upgrades you have yet to spend, we recommend investing in the Threat Sensor.
Overview of Chak Lok, Himself
After a small and memorable introduction, the fight begins with the Elite cloaking himself with active camouflage. Chak Lok wields an Energy Sword, a Pulse Carbine, and a few Plasma Grenades. He will stay invisible for most of the fight.
Thus, using the Threat Sensor makes his outline visible. In multiplayer and the campaign, the Pulse Carbine is underwhelming, and its projectiles are easy to dodge and do low damage.
Of course, it’s mainly his Energy Sword lunge that you must worry about. Like Bassus, Chak Lok has a large leap attack with his energy sword, having an extended move set, unlike regular Elites you will encounter elsewhere.
Tips on How to Beat Chak Lok in Halo Infinite
Scattered around the boss arena are tons of Fusion Coils that stun Chak Lok for a decent amount of time. Seems a bit foolish of him to leave them lying around in hindsight.
Using the Grappleshot to reposition and grab Fusion Coils from afar makes this fight a breeze. This is a similar strategy to the one we recommended in our companion guide on how to beat Bassus in Halo Infinite.
It’s highly recommended to always use the Threat Sensor whenever it’s available and aim it around the center pillar in the arena. You can kite Chak Lok around the pillar while maintaining vision of them and dip into one of the few nooks to grab a Fusion Coil to stun him. The Threat Sensor also sticks to enemies. If you can line up a direct hit on Chak Lok, the sensor will give away his position as he moves around the arena.

After stunning him, follow up with any grenades, especially Plasma or Spike grenades. During the middle of the fight, he will often return to the shadows and attempt to get a sneak attack on you. Be wary of this if you want to beat Chak Lok on your first try in Halo Infinite.
Keep Up the Pressure to Defeat Chak Lok
Whenever he hides for too long, his shields will start to regenerate. If you cannot keep constant pressure on him to ensure his shields don’t recharge, we recommend using any Plasma weaponry to drain his shields.
If his shields are down, use a Kinetic weapon to ensure you do the most amount of damage possible to his base HP. The Battle Rifle or the VK78 Commando Rifle works great on targets with no shields or armor.
Close range weaponry is also effective like the Mangler or the Bulldog, but against an Energy Sword, it is a more substantial risk. If you believe you can outmaneuver and pace the boss around with close or ranged weapons, you will beat Chak Lok in no time.
The last tip we have to offer is to remember that equipment doesn’t share the same cooldowns; make sure to swap between them often. After using the Threat Sensor, switch to the Grappleshot to maintain constant mobility around the arena. Most player deaths revolve around slow equipment swapping.
