Halo Infinite is the last chapter of the unofficial “Reclaimer Trilogy.” It gives the diehard fans the features they always wanted. Halo Infinite multiplayer is the most spectacular multiplayer experience we’ve seen throughout the Halo series, with the breathtaking environment, exciting gunplay, and flawless action. The campaign offers one of the most immersive open-world experiences. Frankly speaking, the game couldn’t have done any better.

However, when we talk about the most impressive addition to Halo Infinite, then it’s neither the revolutionary multiplayer experience nor the improved campaign mode. The best feature of Halo Infinite is actually the NPC Marines!

Marines are excellent fire shields, taking some of the stings of combat. They aren’t terrible combatants on their own, though. They’ll upgrade their weapons when they require them, and they’ll be able to supply some helpful firepower in a battle. You would be a proud Master Chief when you see them with rocket launchers and sniper rifles, and they take down high-value targets!

Unfortunately, a common question among the Halo Infinite player base has been controlling these UNSC marines. There are hardly any game guides out there telling you exactly what to do. That’s why we will help you and Master Chief learn about commanding these marines for better expeditions!

    You can’t Summon Them!

A common misconception among the player base has been that they can summon these marines out of thin air. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, even if we would have loved that. The marines can be called only if they are nearby. You can think of it as how horses worked in Red Dead Redemption 2, as you couldn’t have summoned your favorite friend when he was in some other area!

Ping to Get Marines to Follow You in Halo Infinite

The best way to get these marines to follow you is to press the ping key when nearby. This should be enough to attain their attention, and they should start moving toward you. However, there might be instances when they don’t respond to your calls and act tough. This is probably something that would be fixed with the upcoming matches, but the easiest fix is to walk near them for now, and they will start following Master Chief.

How to get them in the Razorback?

You may load up to five marines and carpool about wherever you go after acquiring the Razorback Warthog Variant. It is also a great weapons platform for the M247 HMG in Halo Infinite, yet that will cost you some space for passengers. However, a common question among the player base is how to get them into the vehicle. The easy answer is to do precisely what you would do in real life: honk until they come!

Unfortunately, there have been instances where the horn stopped working, or the marines didn’t respond after many attempts at honking. There is an easy solution to this problem too. All you have to do is get out of the vehicle, ping the marines and get back inside the car again. They will definitely follow you this time and start getting into the Razorback.

Will they stick with me until the end?

We have got some bad news for you. The moment you stray too far away from your marines, they won’t bother to look around for you. That’s the true nature of Halo Infinite marines and something that you have to accept. There are also instances where they won’t accompany you in some campaign missions or expeditions that are under the ground, so adjust your plan accordingly.

    How to Find Marines?

The best location to recruit marines is the FOBs (Forward Operating Bases). The marines are always hanging around once you have claimed the FOB and can be quickly recruited from there! That’s why it’s a good idea to make FOBs your main priority in the early stages of your game!

Additional Frequently Asked Questions about Halo Infinite’s Marines

How can you get the marines in Halo Infinite to follow you into a vehicle?

This one is fairly simple. All you need to do is honk at them. Sometimes they glitch a little bit, and you need to honk multiple times or drive around a bit to get it to happen quickly.

How many marines can you fit into a single warthog?

Regular warthogs can hold 4 additional marines. Yet, the Razorback variant featured in Halo Infinite can hold 5 additional passengers or large equipment.

What is the simplest way to get marines to follow you in Halo Infinite?

Marines will follow you if you ping them to do so. This doesn’t always work, as getting them to join you in a vehicle doesn’t always work. If the marines you want to follow you don’t do so immediately, walk towards them and try pinging them again. Eventually, they will join you.

Final Thoughts on How to Get Halo Infinite’s Marines to Follow You

Marines in Halo Infinite can be a tremendous help, especially in harder difficulty modes where you need extra firepower to survive. They can be especially helpful on missions where you need to use a vehicle and can’t make it through alone. For example, players trying to earn the Bring Shiela Home Safely Award in Halo Infinite can benefit from bringing some additional marines on the tank.
