One of Hunt Showdown’s best attributes is its balancing. Any gun can be a great weapon in the right hands, and a powerful rifle can be a pea shooter in the wrong ones. Crytek has ensured hunters rely purely on skill and not so much on numbers or equipment statistics. In Hunt, only hunters who think have a chance of staying alive and exfiltrating with the bounty. Moreover, if you don’t use what you have intelligently, you won’t survive a single gunfight.
In a previous article, we covered the best guns in Hunt Showdown. Yet, in the following list, we will take it a little further and discuss the best ways to combine them and use them alongside consumables to arrive at the best long-range loadouts in Hunt Showdown.
Best Rifles for a Long-Range Loadout in Hunt Showdown
When using a long-range loadout in Hunt Showdown, it is vital to pick your fights and be smart when to start them where you have the upper hand. Yet, in Hunt, odds will not always be in your favor; other enemy hunters often decide when to pick up a fight with you.
Therefore, it’s essential to have a balanced loadout in Hunt Showdown, especially with long-range loadouts. Picking complementary weapons and items to ensure you do not have any significant weaknesses and can adapt as your situation evolves will be a common theme in our proposed long-range loadouts.

Lebel 1886 Marksman and Mosin Nagant M1891
The Mosin is one of the top-tier guns Hunt has to offer. This weapon has an incredible muzzle velocity of 615 m/s and damage of 136. It also is capable of carrying five bullets, making it one of the most effective options for long-range. The downside is that it has a high cost of 490 Hunt Dollars.
If you want a scope, the Lebel 1886 Marksman is our favorite scoped rifle. Similar to the Mosin Nagant, it is an expensive rifle costing 437 Hunt Dollars. It is a high-cost, high-reward weapon as it has one of the best scopes in the game, little sway, and high statistics for damage, muzzle velocity, and effective range.
Martini-Henry IC1 and Sparks LRR
The Martini-Henry IC1 is a single-shot rifle with serious damage of 143 and the Sparks LRR damage of 149. These are very lethal guns in Hunt, but their downside is that they only carry one bullet in the chamber. For that reason, they can get you killed if you are reloading while an enemy is pushing you.
To overcome this limitation, we will list some side arms that work well with these bolt-action rifles to complete one of the best loadouts in Hunt Showdown.
Sidearms to Complete a Long-Range Loadout in Hunt: Showdown
Nagant M1895 Officer Brawler
We have already expressed our love for this weapon due to its accuracy, high fire rate, and damage. If used right, this is a headshot machine at short range. It will be your best friend when having to switch to a gun to quickly repel an unexpected short-range attack. Also, because it has dusters on the grip, you do not need to buy an extra knife or dusters.
LeMat II Revolver
The LeMat II Revolver is a decent gun that will be extremely useful if mixed with a perk-like fanning due to its accuracy. But this is not the reason why we have it on this list. The charm of this revolver comes when you combine its secondary fire with slugs.
When carrying a LeMat, you basically have three guns. Your primary gun, a revolver, and a one-shot shotgun. The LeMat with regular buckshot can be unreliable, but mixed with slugs will save your life more than once in short-range fights.
Caldwell 92 New Army
Similar to the Nagant M1895 Office, the New Army will offer great accuracy with a high fire rate.
It has slightly greater damage, fire rate, and effective range than the officer, but it’s a little more expensive with a lower muzzle velocity and less accuracy. Between these two, we leave it up to personal preference. Both are great choices, and you really can’t go wrong with either.
Caldwell Conversion Chain Pistol
With a capacity of 18 bullets loaded, you can never go wrong with the chain pistol. It will allow you to repel and suppress enemy hunters quickly. Moreover, it takes time to run out of ammo. Keep in mind that it has a low fire rate but high damage. We highly recommend mixing it with Fanning.

Caldwell Conversion Uppercut
This is essentially a rifle shaped like a revolver as it uses long ammo offering its wielder serious damage, range, and accuracy. Mixing this with a long ammo rifle will not only give you a way to engage in medium to short-range fights but will provide additional ammo for your primary gun.
Best Traits for Long-Range Loadouts in Hunt Showdown
Hunt offers a set of perks that you can select based on your playstyle. Here we will recommend some of the best traits to mix with a Long-Range loadout.
Iron Sharpshooter
“Remain in iron sights after firing a shot while using bolt-action rifles.” This perk will allow you to keep your enemy in scope and not lose sight of them when loading another round on bolt-action rifles. This is important when your enemy is moving between cover. You don’t want to lose sight of them. Furthermore, it can help if they are charging you and don’t have time to sight back in again on them with the second shot.
Steady Aim
“Weapon sway gradually lessens when you’re looking through the scope of a rifle.” This improvement will help you land your long-distance shots with a long-range loadout in Hunt: Showdown.
Fanning
“Faster rate-of-fire when using 1-handed single-action pistols.” Fanning will go great with any of the pistols we mentioned in our list, especially with the LeMat II Revolver.
Marksman Scopesmith
“Remain in scope view after firing a shot while using any weapon with a medium scope (Marksman variants).” Great for the Lebel 1886 Marksman.
Bulletgrubber
“Recover the unfired round when performing partial reloads.” Works to save ammo with guns like the Mosin Nagant or Lebel.
Quartermaster
“Can equip a medium slot weapon in addition to a large slot weapon.” Here we will list a few medium slot weapons that you can combine with Long-Range guns
Romero 77 Handcannon
If equipped with Slugs, the Romero 77 Handcannon is a great option to quickly kill enemy hunters at close range.
Specter 1882 Compact
If you don’t want to rely only on one bullet in the chamber, you can equip the Specter 1882 Compact with Slugs, allowing you to carry more rounds in the gun (up to 4).
Dual-Wielding
Dual-Wielding is another reliable option to be effective in case you need to engage in close range. Some of the guns we recommend for this are the following:
- Caldwell Conversion Chain Pistol
- Scottfield Model 3 Spitfire
- Caldwell Pax

Best Tools to Use with a Ranged Loadout in Hunt: Showdown
For tools, we will focus on items that go well for Long-Range loadouts and skip the basics, such as the melee weapon and first-aid kits that are already a must and don’t matter what kind of gameplay you are doing.
Include Blank Fire Decoys in Your Hunt Showdown Loadouts to Confuse Enemies
These decoys go well with anything, but they can help you deceive enemies and make them look in another direction while you try to snipe them.
Any Trap will Complement Your Long-Range Loadout in Hunt Showdown
Alert Trip Mines, Concertina Trip Mines, or Poison Trip Mines will help you from getting third parties. While engaging in long-range, you are entirely vulnerable to short-range surprise attacks, especially if you are playing alone in Hunt: Showdown. Placing these traps and tactical gadgets in Hunt Showdown will stop any attackers from getting you from behind by surprise.
Quad Derringer
The Quad Derringer is far from being a powerful gun, and it can be considered the weakest as it’s even listed as a tool in the game, but it’s cheap. The Derringer carries four bullets and does decent damage of 74 at a 60-meter range. It can be a practical option if you are out of ammo.
Consumables to Carry in Hunt Showdown in a Distance Loadout
Once again, we won’t go into basics such as grenades where this is focused on long-range engagements. Next, we will list specific consumables that will help you with this playstyle.
Ammo Box
With Long Ammo guns, you do not carry a lot of ammunition, so the ammo box is a great option to replenish your bullets quickly and get back into the fight.
Regeneration Shot
This great consumable will allow you to stay in the fight more often without looking for cover and losing sight of your enemies. This consumable will slowly regenerate your health for a few minutes once used.
Final Thoughts on Crafting the Best Loadout for Distance Fighting in Hunt Showdown
