Hunt Showdown is a thinking game. Using your tools and consumables smartly is fundamental to surviving the swamps of Lousiana and completing your objective. It is also a game that will test your skills and make you think twice before using one of your items.

These Hunt Showdown tips are not included in the tutorial or tricks suggested on the game’s loading screens. Yet, there are ways to use your tools and consumables in Hunt to their maximum potential and be a true Hunter.

How to Use your Tools and Consumables to be a Deadly Hunter

First, it is essential to understand that some of these tips may require some practice and patience to reach a decent effectiveness grade. We will give you the basics so you can go into a match confidently and hunt other players effectively.

You Can Use Many of the Non-Lethal Tools for Deadly Effect

Your consumable items and tactical gadgets in Hunt Showdown can be used to very deadly effect. You don’t just have guns to kill your enemies!

Use Flares and Flare Pistols as an Ignition Tool

Throwing or shooting a flare into an oil pool or a barrel will ignite it immediately. Using this tactically can help you block paths or burn other hunters trying to kill you. Igniting oil also works with decoy fusees, blank fire decoys, and alert trip mines by placing them close to barrels or on top of oil pools.

Lethal Hunt Showdown Tip – Create Deadly, Instakill Traps

Hunt Showdown offers different tools that can be used as a trap to alert us of other players or to damage them directly. Our tip for Hunt Showdown players is to combine a concertina trap, a poison trap, and a bear trap in the same spot creating chaos when someone steps on them.

The concertina and bear trap will cause immediate and furious bleeding while the hunter is intoxicated and also taking damage from the poison trap. Combining these tools can instantly kill an enemy hunter.

    Use Choke Bombs during Gunfights

Choke bombs in Hunt are primarily used to stop fellow teammates from burning while downed. Yet, if you use them smartly, they can be your best tool in combat when fighting other players.

The first way of using them is by throwing them in critical pathways such as doors or hallways. This will create a sound trap that will make other hunters cough when they try to run through it. Doing this will help you pinpoint their location.

Another great tip/trick in Hunt Showdown is throwing them on top of downed enemies. This way, you can hear when a player from another team is trying to revive his companion that you killed.

Hunters Can Use Decoys in More than One Way

Blank fire decoys will cause a fake gunshot sound that can help confuse enemies as to your location. Yet, there are other ways of using them to create complete chaos in a specific zone.

When you are in a gunfight, you can throw these on a barrel to create an explosion or near cage dogs which will cause a massive amount of noise focused in an area that most likely will cause the enemy to turn around. That will allow you to flank them and take them out. It’s this great versatility that reminds us how underrated Hunt: Showdown really is.

    Lanterns can Quiet Screaming Horses

While carrying a lantern, you can turn them off and throw them at injured horses to neutralize them. Be aware that you have to hit the head for this to be effective. We know Hunt Showdown tip sounds brutal, but it is just a game after all.

Use Consumables and Ammo Types to Their Fullest

Traps can Be Used for Many Different Purposes in Hunt: Showdown

Use Concertina Bombs to Protect Yourself

Concertina bombs are a very effective offensive tool. Players constantly use them to mobilize and cause bleeding on others. Yet, they also can save your life in a different way.

If you throw a concertina bomb in front of you, it will block any bullet aimed at your head, except for the Nitro shotgun. This neat tip and trick in Hunt Showdown of throwing the concertina bomb can buy you some time to either reposition, reload, or heal if needed.

What about the Ring Trick with Explosives in Hunt: Showdown?

Using a well-timed bomb can wipe teams and get players back to the lobby in a blink of an eye. But it is not as simple as it sounds. You have to know when and how to throw a grenade that will effectively blow up in your enemy’s face. Please keep the following fuse timers for different explosives in Hunt in mind:

    • Dynamite: 4 seconds
    • Frag Grenades: 5 seconds
    • Sticky and Chaos Bombs: 8 seconds

You can use this information when you push an enemy team inside a compound when a banish is about to be over. Time it well and land one of these explosives at their feet as soon as they try to pick the bounty up. While challenging to pull off, this Hunt Showdown tip can win you the game.

    Create Panic with Fire

When a hunter is down and is burning, their teammates need to stop the fire or revive their friend. Otherwise, their friend will be entirely burned and unable to be restored unless the team possesses a bounty.

Use this tip to your advantage and throw firebombs at down enemy hunters in Hunt: Showdown. This will cause panic and make them impulsive and foolish while trying to save their fellow hunter.

Use Poison to Deal with Grunts and Sound Traps

Alerting a group of crows is one of the scariest and most annoying feelings in the game as you are giving away your position to other nearby players. You can use poison bombs or ammo on a crow to kill the rest.

This Hunt tip also works on emulators, grunts, and armored grunts to kill them in one hit.

Water Demons are Not the Only Threat in Rivers

Usually, when you start cooking any explosive, the player on the other side will hear the fuse and try to run away from your grenade. Yet, there is a neat trick in Hunt Showdown that will prevent them from hearing it until they are already dead!

You can throw hive bombs, flash bombs, and grenades in rivers and ignite them immediately by shooting them. This could be used as a trap when waiting for a team that you know will need to cross a body of water.

5 Easy Tips that Show Sound is on Your Side in Hunt Showdown

Noise can Be Used Effectively by Your or Other Hunters in Hunt: Showdown

You can Cover Up the Sound of Your Passage

You can turn generators on, which creates a loud sound until they are turned off again. Use this to cover your footstep as you try to enter a compound.

Simple Tip in Hunt Showdown – Open Doors Stealthily

Opening doors can make quite a noise and alert enemy hunters. Yet, here’s a simple tip for all of you Hunt Showdown players to overcome that noise. If you try to open a door while crouching, it will open slowly and barely make a sound giving you the chance to sneak behind an enemy.

    Walk to Recover Your Stamina

Once you have run for a long time, a lung icon will appear at the bottom of the screen. Most importantly, your hunter will start running very slowly. It is more effective to start walking and wait till the icon disappears. You will reach your objective faster and be quieter.

    Stop Breaking Your Knees

Hunt: Showdown players have died at least once from jumping from a high place. Fortunately, we found a quick tip to stop this from happening to you in Hunt: Showdown. If you need to escape from a compound quickly, try to land on water or hay. Landing in these will reduce damage.

Use Light Attacks to Prevent Getting Hit from Grunts

If you are trying to kill a grunt with a heavy melee attack but miss or don’t kill them in one stab, you will most likely get hit and start bleeding or burning. If you happen to make this mistake, you can make a light attack which will be faster but, most importantly, will stun the grunt, canceling any attack they were going for.

Our Final Tip for Hunt: Showdown Players

Practice, and don’t be afraid of dying. Sure, you will lose your Hunter, but experimentation is what teaches you new tactics and strategies. It’s what led us to learn these great Hunt Showdown tips and tricks we are sharing today.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our quick guide on tips and tricks for Hunt: Showdown players. If you have any questions or great insights to share, please feel free to use the comments section below. If you like to read more Hunt: Showdown guides, check out our Hunt Showdown Prestige guide.
