In developing Hunt: Showdown, Crytek demonstrated it can be innovative while also providing magnificent visuals, sound design, gameplay mechanics, and intense gun fights. Another thing that Hunt deserves praise for is its large, balanced armory. All guns in Hunt Showdown can be effective in the right hands and terrible in the wrong ones.
For example, a Quad Derringer, which is not even considered a gun but a tool in the game, can be lethal if handled by an experienced player. Conversely, an AVTOMAT can seem like a pea shooter if someone with no experience tries to use it.
Hunt: Showdown offers players a balanced armory with a decent amount of guns from different types. This article will go through the various weapons available. We will highlight our top picks for the best guns in Hunt Showdown. We will also describe the best situations to use each weapon in Hunt.
The Different Types of Guns in Hunt Showdown
As mentioned before, Hunt offers players a large selection of weapons from its armory before jumping into a match. There are currently five different types of guns in Hunt Showdown. These include Compact Ammunition, Medium, Long, Shotgun, and Special.
The Best Compact Ammo Guns in Hunt Showdown
Compact ammunition guns tend to be weapons with low damage, low penetration, and low range. They also are known for having a faster fire rate compared to other guns. These weapons are better for medium to short-range fights where precision is not necessarily your priority. Compact ammo guns make up for great backup weapons. Up next, we will list our favorites from this category:
Caldwell Conversion Chain Pistol
This small pistol carries 18 rounds. Yes, that’s an incredible 18 rounds on a historical firearm. Yet, using this weapon is a high-risk, high-reward situation. You will need 28 seconds to reload this thing. The Chain Pistol carries decent damage of 104 at an effective range of 84 meters.
The best way to use this gun in Hunt Showdown is dual wield or fanning. Dual-wielding the Chain Pistol makes for an excellent suppression gun where you can keep spamming shots to your enemies. But hands-down, mixing it with fanning is the best way to use this weapon. If you want an SMG in Hunt Showdown, this is the route to have one. With fanning, you can quickly spam shots at short range and kill anything quickly in front of you.
Compared to a shotgun, the Chain Pistol can be a bit more practical than slugs if you are fighting more than one person simultaneously and at short range. Keep in mind that it is not as easy as it reads. Mastering the Chain Pistol with fanning can take some time and practice.
LeMat II Revolver
The LeMat II is a Revolver capable of carrying compact ammo and a shotgun round in its second chamber. The LeMat II compact ammo is not that reliable, but if you mix it with slugs and fanning, it can be a great option due to its accuracy and a light option for close-quarters combat.

Nagant M1895 Officer
For us, the Nagant Office is hands-down the most reliable and balanced side gun on our list of the best guns in Hunt Shodown. This weapon provides 91 damage and an effective range of 73 meters. While those stats may not sound that unique, once you add that its fire rate is 100 RPM, you have one of the best guns in Hunt Shodown for following shots. Not only this, but the Nagant M18954 Office has minimal sway, letting you get headshots at medium to close range very quickly.
Another great thing about this gun is its variants. We Nagant M1895 Officer Brawler comes with its original charms plus dusters on its grip. Another significant variation of this gun is the Nagant M1895 Officer Carbine which provides a longer barrel and a stock making it a more accurate weapon with a higher rate of fire of 120rpm.
The Top Medium Ammo Weapons in Hunt: Showdown
Caldwell Pax
This 6-round revolver will provide excellent power and accuracy to the player with 110 damage and an effective range of 86 m. The Caldwell Pax is a gun you can never go wrong with; it won’t let you down. Our best way to use it is by dual-wielding.
Scottfield Model 3
The Scottfield Model 3 is a classic revolver and one of the best guns in Hunt Showdown due to the price and the damage it has to offer. The Scottfield provides 107 damage, an 85 m effective range, and a low rate of fire. What is so great about this revolver is its variants, such as the Scottfield Model 3 Spitfire, a smaller version with a higher fire rate.
The Spitfire is also deadly while dual-wielding due to the high rate of fire and the accuracy. The other variant is the Scottfield Model 3 Precision which adds a stock improving its handling.
Springfield 1866 Marksman
The Springfield is known for being a budget, medium slot rifle everyone picks as a cheap option. The Springfield offers nothing special with good damage (132), an effective range of 212 m, and a rate of fire of 42 RPM. However, using the Dumdum ammo with this weapon will make your enemies fear you!
If you are in the heat of a gunfight, you are not always able to headshot everyone, so going for body shots with this combo will put them out of the fight by making them retreat. If they are not fast enough, they will die of bleeding as you already did 132 damage to them.
Combining the Springfield rifle with Dumdum ammo is also a fantastic duo option. In this arrangement, one player can place hit markers on enemy hunters while the players finish them off as they try to heal.

The Best Long Ammo Guns in Hunt Showdown
Long ammo weapons tend to be high-power rifles with a very slow fire rate but severe damage, range, and muzzle velocity. These Hunt Showdown guns need to be treated with respect and patience. Missing a shot with one of these guns in Hunt Showdown will put you at a disadvantage for a few seconds while you load a new round in most of the cases in this list.
Calwell Conversion Uppercut
The Uppercut is a single-action revolver that fires long ammo dealing 130 damage and an impressive range of 96 m. This is a revolver that you treat as a rifle. It is an excellent replacement for a long-range weapon if your primary gun is short-range.
Martini-Henry IC1
The Martini-Henry IC1 is a single-shot rifle with a high damage of 143. It also has one of the best ranges in the game with 334m and a muzzle velocity of 400m per second. For this gun, you must be careful with your shots and be sure before pulling the trigger as you need to reload every bullet.
Mosin Nagant M1891
The Mosing is a bolt action rifle with a ridiculous muzzle velocity of 615m per second and a range of 319m, making it a laser gun. Where you put your sights, you place your bullet almost instantly. This incredible weapon deals substantial damage of 136 per shot in Hunt Showdown. The only downside of this gun is the high price of 490 Hunt Dollars, making it a high-risk, high-reward weapon.
Sparks LRR
The Sparks is very similar to the Martini. “renowned, large-bore, single-shot rifle with good sights. Can put down a bison across a prairie’” The Sparks, if shot at a distance of 347m or less will leave enemies with critical low health as it deals 149 damage with a very good Muzzle Velocity of 533m per second, a bit lower than the Mosin but at a much cheaper price of 130 Hunt Dollars.

The Best Guns in Hunt Showdown Using Shell Ammo
Shotguns are almost a must in the game’s current state as almost nothing can beat them in close range, especially if the gun is loaded with slug ammo. Shotguns are a one-shot kill within a distance of 15 m and will scare off any hunter daring to push without one.
Romero 77
The Romero 77 is the shotgun with the most range at 15m with a damage of 200 per hit. Everything closer than 15 meters will be dead in seconds, and it gets better. If you add slugs to the Romero, you get a sweet range increase of 25 m.
Adding slugs to this weapon is why the Romero is the hunter’s first choice when it comes to shotguns, especially at its low price of 34 Hunt Dollars plus the 200 Hunt Dollars to add slugs. The only downside of this gun is that it only carries a single shell, so make sure you land that shot.
Winfield 1893 Slate
The Winfield 1893 IS A 12-gauge shotgun with devastating damage to enemies. This shotgun is a recent addition to the game and it quickly became one of the most used guns in the game because of its rate of fire of 58 rpm and a damage of 180.
The advantage of this shotgun compared to the Romero 77 is that it carries 6 shells making it a great option for follow-up shots. Mixed with Slughs shells, you get a range increase of 25m with a decreased damage of 178. This shotgun can be a hard pick due to its price of 250 Hunt Dollars plus the 200 Hunt Dollars needed for the slugs.
Crown & King Auto-5
No, you don’t need glasses, you read that right Crown & King AUTO. This is a special automatic due to its high rate of fire of 100rpm. This is the most spammy shotgun of the game and the most challenging one. DDDon’te fooled by it as the excitement can make you run out of shells if you just spray and pray.
