With the success of Halo Infinite’s campaign, players are gearing up for another play-through with friends in Season 2. With friends, many challenges become more manageable, some achievements as well. Currently, Halo Infinite has no way to replay main missions, causing story achievements to be a pain to get. If it’s your first time or if you happen to be replaying the game’s campaign, we will show you the easiest way in Halo Infinite to bring Shiela home safely.
Strategy to Unlock the Bring Shiela Home Achievement in Halo Infinite
The second to last mission in the Halo Infinite campaign, The Road, is where you will have the chance to obtain this secret achievement. The beginning of The Road is a long narrow pathway that you will be given a tank to cross with and destroy anything along the way.
Some veteran Halo players might recall a similar secret achievement: Tank Beats Everything from Halo Reach. There are many ways to accomplish this achievement; here are some of the best methods we’ve tested to bring Sheila home safely.
Easiest Way to Bring Sheila Home Safely: Go Slow
The first and easiest way to complete this achievement is to drive through the mission very slowly, using the extreme range of the tank’s main gun. Each shell can go further than you think, allowing you to pick off crowds easily.
There are moments when sniping with the tank’s gun becomes difficult. Along with the beginning of the path, passing through a few narrowing roads rids the area of having sufficient space. There are also a handful of grunts that will throw themselves at you while holding Plasma Grenades; just keep your distance.
Along the way, drop pods can spawn very close to your tank once you go far enough forward. Some brutes spawn with the Ravager, bombarding your tank with surprising vigor and speed. If you are used to the Ravager being underwhelming in multiplayer, you’d be making a mistake by underestimating it in the Campaign. They can be a big hurdle to you trying to bring Shiela home safely in Halo Infinite.
Dealing with Highly Damaging Vehicles
Once you get out into the straight path forward, you will see The House in the distance. Enemy Wraiths will start to become more frequent, making advancing difficult. Phantoms will spawn in as well, pelting you with their side turrets and primary gun. We’ve often found that the enemy vehicles, and Phantoms, in particular, are the biggest problem when keeping the tank alive. If you can’t manage to pick off any Phantoms, they have likely dropped at least an extra Ghost onto the battlefield.
Once you reach the gate, you will need to exit to get the control panel to lower it. Be careful; a hunter is hiding near the gate and will quickly destroy your tank. If he does, you will lose your bring Sheila home achievement.
When lowering the gate, we recommend parking at a distance; don’t worry, leaving Sheila won’t ruin the achievement. Afterward, there will be a courtyard in front of The House you need to clear out. Make sure to lower the bridge and bring Shelia when crossing it. Many players have left the scorpion tank at the start of the campaign mission bridge, never parking her in the garage across it, resulting in no achievement.
Again, don’t forget to take the scorpion tank fully intact across the bridge, or you will miss out on getting the Bring Shiela Home Safely achievement. It’s impossible to selectively choose which level to play of all Halo Infinite missions.
Second Strategy: Don’t Bring Sheila to Keep Her Safe
The second strategy is a little harder on yourself but much easier for keeping Sheila safe. You can leave her at the very start of the mission and run the gauntlet yourself on foot. Leaving her behind will not affect your ability to obtain the Bring Shiela Home Safely achievement in any way. Yet, you will still need to remember to bring her across the bridge at the very end.
Final Strategy: Bringing Some Marines Along for Help
Since the beginning of The House is still out in the open world, this means you can prepare for it. You’ve likely heard of the community’s favorite discovery for getting an entire squad of marines to follow you, giving each one a Rocket Launcher or Skewer, and bringing them into battle. This strategy of having infantry coming equipped works with the intro of The House. The marines will hop on the sides of your tank, but this can also limit their angle for firing.
Origins of the Bring Shiela Home Safely Achievement in Halo Infinite
This isn’t the first, or possibly the last time the popular web show Red vs. Blue has been referenced in a Halo game. The web series started in April of 2003 and was created by Rooster Teeth Productions. Shiela the Tank was introduced in the first season’s third episode and has been a fan favorite character ever since.
As a bonus, there is a chance whenever you call in a scorpion tank at an outpost, The Pilot will give a short line explaining that the tank’s name is Sheila. You can find more Red vs. Blue references in previous Halo games. A few notable spots include Crow’s Nest in Halo 3, and a handful of places within Halo 4’s Spartan Ops.
