Midas has become one of the most well-known and also well-liked original characters in all of Fortnite. As a result, Fortnite has a number of Midas skins and outfits made for him to please his fans.
He’s also a key component in Fortnite’s relatively complex story. He’s involved with shady organizations, nefarious plans, and is always plotting revenge in some way. Cursed with a golden touch, he’s even faked his death to pull the wool over his enemy’s eyes.
A prominent figure, a tough boss, and a fearless leader. Midas has quite a reputation within the world of Fortnite.
With so many looks of his to choose from, the question is, which are his best?
Honorary Mentions for the Best Midas Skins in Fortnite
8. Midas Drum Gun (Vaulted)
The only weapon skin to feature on this list, the man of gold had his own unique weapon. With only 1 spawning per match, this Tommy Gun replica is a powerful damage dealer.
Visually identically to the standard Drum Gun, Midas has a Mythic version of the weapon. First introduced in Season 2 of Chapter 2, this automatic assault rifle was personally held by Midas himself. Midas acted as the Boss of The Agency, securing himself with Henchman at the named location.
After defeating Midas, he’ll drop the weapon along with the Agency Keycard that can open a Vault.
Packing a forty-bullet magazine and a DPS rating of 250, this is a mean ballistic machine. This makes it a useful tool for ripping apart structures as well as felling enemy players.
There is also another variant held by Shadow Midas. This is not so creatively called Shadow Midas’ Drum Gun, and has almost identical stats. It was obtained in the same manner, but by defeating Shadow Midas at The Ruins.
Since Update 14.5, both Midas gun skins have been placed into The Fortnite Vault.

7. Midas Flopper (Fish)
An incredibly rare find in the game, these fancy fish grant more than just health.
Introduced in Chapter 2: Season 4, this special splasher is modeled after Midas. Sporting gold fins, Midas’ hairstyle, tattoos, and a scar, they borrow many of Midas’ trademarks.
Midas Floppers only swim in the purest of waters. Therefore, they can only be found in the waters of The Ruins and/or The Authority. They require a Pro Fishing Rod in order to take your bait and only have a 1% chance of biting. This extremely low catch rate means it’s not really worth deliberately hunting one down.
Like all other Floppers, Midas Floppers will restore 40 Health Points to a player when consumed. However, they also have a much more lucrative bonus feature.
If you pop one of these in your mouth, it will turn your entire inventory into Legendary versions of the weapons you’re holding. You’ll also receive the Legendary Assault Rifle.
From Update 15.00, Midas Floppers were put into the Fortnite skin Vault as the water by The Ruins was removed.

6. Midsummer Midas
Moving onto the Outfits, our first Fortnite Midas skin is one that is more than beach-ready.
Washing ashore as part of the Undercover Summer Set, Midas’ casual clothes were added back in June of 2021. He sports an open black jacket and swim shorts, finished off with black/gold flip-flops and sunglasses. His more liberated look means he reveals the many tattoos on his chest and legs.
You can also make minor changes to his style by removing his jacket and sunglasses. He is also reactive and will glow gold (as will his surfboard) when triggering his effect.
Midsummer Midas comes in the Golden Sands Bundle with the GHOST Skimboard, Golden Black wrap, and Gilded Shadow Harvesting Tool.
He costs 1,600 V-Bucks solo and 2,000 as part of his bundle.
5. Icebound Midas
Cold-blooded in more ways than one, Icebound Midas is a literal cool customer.
Part of the Frozen Series that includes a variety of Outfits and items, Icebound Midas arrived in Chapter 3. Specifically, this Fortnite Midas skin is part of the Black Ice Legends, which also includes Permafrost Raider and Ice Crystal.
Midas retains the same clothing as his standard model, but the theme of his clothing is very different. Swapping his pale skin for a jagged blue, he has a ghostly aura that surrounds him. His clean business-casual look is gone, with a frozen sheath on his suit and blue details on his waistcoat.
Icebound Midas, unfortunately, cannot be bought individually. He can only be accessed by purchasing his associated bundle for 2,500 V-Bucks. On the plus side, you do get an additional two characters, as well as additional items.
4. Shadow Midas
A Halloween treat for fans of the character, this version of Midas is corrupted to the core.
Landing in the game during Season 8 of Chapter 2, Shadow Midas was released a mere two days before Halloween. Ironically, this outfit is very similar to the SHADOW style found on his standard variant. The primary difference is that this Midas skin hasn’t been corrupted by his own power in Fortnite.
Shadow Midas dons an all-black suit, the same as his standard models wear. His hair, however, is a faded white as opposed to his usual black. Midas in this outfit has swapped his namesake gold colors for a mystic purple.
He has a reactive property on his outfit, with the purple aura growing as you deal damage to enemies.
He also serves as a Boss, protecting The Ruins with his Ghostly Ghost Henchmen and Shadow Drum Gun.
Part of the Shadow Seekers Set, he can be purchased for 1,500 V-Bucks.

The 3 Best Midas Fortnite Skins
3. Midas (GHOST/SHADOW/Golden Agent)
The original. The one that started it all. Midas is a significant character within the lore and a huge fan favorite for good reason.
Since stepping onto the scene during Chapter 2: Season 2, Midas quickly became one of the game’s most iconic characters. Originally part of the Battle Pass for his debut Season, Midas doubled as a Boss character at The Agency.
Within the lore of the game, Midas is a true villain. He founded both spy organizations: Shadow and Ghost. He also created The Device, a machine he planned to use to stop/harness the power of The Storm. This plan failed, however, which lead to the Wall of Water causing severe floods.
Midas’ outfit has him in his business suit, encompassing a white shirt, black tie, dark grey trousers, and waistcoat. He also has his dual underarm holsters with his golden pistols in hand.
The GHOST and SHADOW Midas skin variants change his suit to a light grey and black, respectively, when play playing Fortnite. Both outfits have his skin fully golden, with his Golden Agent outfit being completely covered.
Midas also has a unique ability called Golden Touch. This causes every weapon he picks up to turn into gold.
Midas was originally unlocked by reaching Level 100 in Chapter 2: Season 2 Battle Pass. His additional looks had to be unlocked by completing their associated challenges.
2. Midas Rex – Runner-Up to the Greatest Midas Skin in Fortnite
Fully armed and operational, Midas Rex is a mechanical menace. Outfitted in personal mech armor, this iteration of Midas is certainly an upgrade.
Encased in a full mechanical suit of armor, Midas Rex is almost like Fortnite’s version of Ironman or Master Chief.
Obviously, the suit is gold in color; otherwise, it wouldn’t be Midas. Covering his entire body in metallic plating, only Midas’ head is revealed. This shows off his scar, missing eye, and golden eye.
He also has another variant of this great Midas skin in Fortnite where he has his helmet down, fully shrouding him in protection. Sadly, this impressive-looking suit does not have any added benefits like increased health or shields.
Midas Rex is a very exclusive outfit. He’s not available from any Battle Pass, Challenge, or the standard store. Instead, he’s included in The Last Laugh Bundle along with The Joker and Poison Ivy.
The Last Laugh was a limited-time offer in the store, available for $30 rather than V-Bucks. It also received a physical edition sold for a limited time in stores.

1. Golden Gear – The Best Midas Fortnite Skin
Technically not yet released at the time of writing, this anime-inspired version of Midas is quite different.
As part of the Anime Legends Bundle, Midas has ditched almost everything that players know him for. The man with the golden touch now resembles something closer to Akira than he does the leader of GHOST/SHADOW. This look may be inspired by NeoTokyo themes and concepts judging by this Midas Fortnite skin’s appearance.
He now sports a golden biker jacket with black racing trousers. Our top Midas Fortnite skin pick is also holding his gold sword in one hand and bike helmet in the other. He retains the same hairstyle, his missing eye, and scar, but now has bandages on his face too.
The Anime Legends Pack will probably be another timed exclusive like The Last Laugh Bundle. It is set to release in stores on October 14th, and digitally on October 22nd. It also contains the characters Ready Penny and Richocet Rox, plus Back Bling and Harvesting Tools.
There’s no word yet on the price, but it will more than likely share the same price tag as TLL Bundle.
