Fortnite has an enormous amount of outfits for players to choose from. Furthermore, they encompass a huge array of different styles and influences. No matter who you are or what you’re into, there’s a skin to suit you in Fortnite.
Whether you’re into science-fiction, superheroes, punk, magic, anime, or other video games, Fortnite is almost guaranteed to have a costume tailored to your interests. One such passion/interest is that of “Kawaii”.
For those that don’t know, Kawaii is the overall term for the culture of “cuteness” that largely originates from and exists in Japan. These cute things include human and non-human beings, can have fictional and non-fictional elements, and both sentient and inanimate things/objects are included.
Essentially, Kawaii covers anything that could be described as “cute”, “cuddly”, “adorable” or “childlike”. Things like Hello Kitty, certain Pokemon, and video game characters like Toad or Luma from the Super Mario franchise can all be considered to at least have elements of the Kawaii culture/aesthetic.
With this vein of Eastern pop culture in mind, we’ve curated some of the best Kawaii Fortnite skins available. Your incredible cuteness may just lure your opponents into a false sense of security before you take them down.
Cute Fortnite Skins (Honorable Mentions)
15) PANDA Team Leader
And we begin our list of cuddly cuteness with a Panda. As you do.
Introduced in Season 5, this bamboo-eating bear uses Ramirez’ character model, is the panda variant of the Cuddle Bear outfits (of which you’ll see more on this list, don’t worry), and is a Legendary outfit costing 2,000 V-Bucks.
PANDA sits at the bottom of this list of Kawaii Fortnite skins since, while she does have the intention of cuteness about her (especially her heart-shaped nose,) she looks like she hangs around with Freddy Fazbear and his ilk. So, there’s a slightly uneasy vibe underpinning everything about this otherwise cute Fornite skin.
She does beat out Spooky Team Leader though, who doesn’t earn a spot on this list at all since she looks like she doesn’t just hang out with Fazbear, but that she taught him everything he knows…
14) Bendie/Twistie
Some outfits are just full of hot air, and these are definitely two of them.
Okay, dad jokes aside, these characters were originally going to be regular people inside inflatable suits going by what you can see in their concept art. Yet, Fortnite being Fortnite, they just decided to make them living, breathing inflatable tube people instead.
Bendie (the male) has a turquoise and green color palette with his big googly eyes. The equally delightful Twistie rocks a pink and purple combination. Twistie also has some lovely eyelashes on display. Moreover, she has blonde hair(?) that resembles something akin to the Cheese Strings man.
13) Fireworks Team Leader
The next on our list is another Cuddle Bear, except instead of merely fighting for the animal kingdom, this Bear is skirmishing for patriotic independence.
Fireworks’ aesthetic takes much heed from the American flag, showcased by its very bold and obvious color scheme of red, white, and blue. If you’re from the United States and want to show the pride you take in your country as you snipe away at your enemies (while looking like a life-size Build-a-Bear), then look no further than this outfit.
The outfit dropped on July 2nd, 2018 and was featured in the Store during the Independence Day holiday, an obvious time to release such an outfit. One that the Founding Fathers would indeed be proud to wear I’m sure.
12) Axo
Based on the endangered amphibian native to Mexico, Axo wears his basketball jersey with beaming pride, as seen by the glowing smile on his face.
Axo (short for Axolotl) unfortunately does not keep his species’ natural ability for cell and limb regeneration as this would be quite overpowered within the game, but he does keep his natural adorableness (look at him, he’s just so happy).
Although you can choose whether you’d like him with or without his swishy tail. His Midnight and Toxo outfits thankfully don’t take away any of his gleaming charm. Midnight simply gives him a more naturalistic look by removing his clothing.
11) Cuddle Team Leader
The final Team Leader to be featured (there are still some more bears to come though so don’t fret), this time it’s the infectiously pink and cute Cuddle Team Leader.
Cuddles has a host of potential references that surround her. Care Bears, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Smokey the Bear, and Breaking Bad all have associations with her thanks to her over-the-top cuteness which almost bends back around into being slightly creepy and unnerving.
However, there’s too much pink to ignore here. If Pepto Bismol ever needs a mascot, they should give her a call.
Plus, the word “Cuddle” is literally in the name. It is clearly a very Kawaii Fortnite skin.

10) Cluck is a Super Kawaii Fortnite Skin
Let’s state the obvious quickly: Cluck is a large, humanoid chicken.
Now that’s out of the way, Cluck earns considerable bonus points that place him a few spots higher up on the list in the form of his egg-cellent (the first person to make that pun I’m quite sure) helmet and shoulder pads, those being pink eggshells.
Often found hanging around Primal Pond, Cluck is an adorable fusion of Kawaii and Easter, which also has two extra variants, namely the Slurpy and Eggsplosive styles.
The Eggsplosive takes away a bit of his natural cuteness by giving him a more aggressive style, but the Slurpy outfit puts an aquatic twist on his aesthetic.
9) Cobb
Cobb is the first of the sentient fruits and vegetables to feature on this list. Yes, there’s more than one living item of food on here. Cobb is as dangerously cute as he is helpfully healthy as part of a balanced diet.
While Cobb very much is just the vegetable version of Peely, who will make an appearance a little bit further down the rankings, his big, round bulbous eyes and cheeky smile can’t help but make you let out a sly grin upon laying eyes on him.
He has reactive and non-reactive skin options. Plus, he has a “Full Pop” variant that turns the top of his head into popcorn, doubling as a snazzy hairdo.
Who knew vegetables would look better with haircuts?
8) Bundles
Bundles is the last of the Bears to make an appearance. She does not lead a team of her own. Yet, what she loses in leadership, she gains in cuteness.
Essentially a palette swap from the other Team Leader skins, Bundles is by far the less creepy of her counterparts thanks to her calming white and pink color scheme and reduced maniacal facial expression.
Of all the Cuddle Bears, she’s definitely the least threatening, and one that you actually wouldn’t mind cuddling.
The only cuddle bear outfit to not make our list is that of Cuddlepool. Yet, that skin did make our review of the best Marvel Fortnite skins.
7) Tropical Punch Zoey
Normal Zoe would be enough for those with a ravenous sweet tooth. Yet, her summer remix leans into the full feeling of Kawaii.
Part of the Summer Legends pack along with Unpeely and Summer Fable, Tropical Punch Zoe still retains her original candy influences in her design, except now she’s ready to have some sweets at the beach instead.
Zoe’s vivid color scheme mixes green and pink. This is especially evident in her hair where it runs in a gradient with the buns. I’m guessing this is to symbolize gobstoppers or just general candy. This adorable Zoe skin is a refreshing twist on some of the more drab and lifeless skins you come across in the game.
6) Peely is One of the Most Fun and Kawaii Fortnite Skins
Ripe with powerful potassium, the fruity frolicker Peely is potentially the epitome of the “cute” element of Kawaii culture.
There’s actually a bit of backstory behind the great Peely skin. First off, there is not just a singular Peely. There are several of them, much like a bunch of bananas, who have formed their own faction and community.
According to the animation short, Banana Rift, Peely was created by the character Jonesy hopping into a rift with a banana. Thus, the human-fruit hybrid was created.
He’s also been made into a cyborg (the P-1000), a half-skeleton (Peely Bone), become a secret agent (Agent Peely), and taken a well-deserved Summer break (Unpeely) where he loses his peel to soak up some rays.
Peely beats out Cobb due to his more exotic variant of outfit styles. Plus, there’s the fact that bananas are tastier than corn.
5) Bushranger
Bushranger is literally a living tree.
His face is undeniably cute with his little button nose and beady eyes. Furthermore, he has great skins that reflect the seasons, plus a special one called Dream Ranger where he has a blue/purple tone to his leaves.
His Blooming outfit has the hopefulness of Spring intertwined into it. The crunchy brass tones are found in his Autumn skin, and (what I believe to be the best of his outfits) Winter has a pure white finish, equaling fewer leaves across his model to reflect Winter’s afflictions on nature.
It is currently unconfirmed if he is related to Sudowoodo. Investigations are still ongoing.
4) Lil Whip
Not to be confused with Lil Wayne or Lil Yachty. I checked and neither of the rappers are made of ice cream. Lil Whip is (according to his in-game description) “whipped up and ready to serve”.
Looking like he’d fit right in as the mascot of a dessert company, the softly served Lil Whip arrived in Season 7 in the Two Scoops set, and is more than summer-ready with his wafer cone body and sprinkle-covered pants.
Judging by his facial expression, he’s also really happy to be wherever he is. Or, at least that’s what his rounded-toothed smile would have you believe.
Also, a very nice touch is that his eyebrows are also sprinkles.
The Most Kawaii Fornite Skins to Purchase
3) Slumber (Pillow)
It’s quite difficult to explain exactly what Slumber is.
From his appearance, I’d hazard a guess that he’s some kind of sleep-related entity. Perhaps he’s similar to something like the Sandman, but obviously far cuter. His limbs look to be humanoid in nature, but his upper thighs and torso are covered by a duvet. His head area is instead replaced by pillows fashioned into a makeshift hood.
Then you have what is seemingly the spirit of Slumber, an adorable little star that bears a likeness to Luma from Super Mario Galaxy.
His Ninja style is also cute as a button, but Pillow just looks far too cozy to ignore.
2) Runner-Up to the Cutest Fornite Skin – Summer Skye
Summer Skye is the quintessential anime-loving gamer girl. If she played Fortnite herself, she’d undoubtedly be searching for the best anime Fortnite skins to use. She tops our list of the most Kawaii Fortnite skins because she’s adorable and a lover of all things Kawaii, herself. In fact, it even says she’s a Kawaii lover in her in-game biography description.
Summer Skye is actually part of the fairly limited category of fan-made outfits. This, of course, is a special version of the original Skye skin, her own design apparently based on inspiration taken from the Cartoon Network show Adventure Time and also from the iconic video game series The Legend of Zelda.
Summer Skye has many Kawaii-themed elements. Great examples include her pink hair and double bun hairstyle, her bobble hat (with added wings), her Meowscles baseball t-shirt, and her shark sneakers.
1) The Most Kawaii Fornite Skin – Harley Quinn (Lil Monster XOXO)
So we come finally to the queen of Kawaii, the little monster that is Harleen Quinzell, AKA Harley Quinn.
Riding into town as part of the Gotham City set which featured two legendary Batman skins as well as Catwoman, the Suicide Squad (2016) rendition of Harley Quinn as portrayed by Margot Robbie was used as the basis for the outfit design.
The artists did an immaculate job of capturing the essence of the gymnastic troublemaker as she appears in the film, right down to her candy floss bubblegum hair dye and her tools of the Punchline Hammer and Harley Hitter Baseball Bat. While she takes the top spot for most Kawaii skin in Fortnite, she is also featured on our list of the hottest Fortnite skins. This is definitely one of the best skins in Fortnite!
Her second outfit, Always Fantabulous, has a much more punky/gothic element to it. Yet, her initial Lil Monster XOXO design is far more Kawaii than her other Fortnite outfit. It really does a great job of paying homage to Quinn’s more center-stage role in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
