Mods are hands-down some of the greatest aspects that make PC gaming a great experience. Modders are passionate people who love a specific game and will spend hours improving its mechanics and creating content. Some modders even make entirely new games using professionally produced games as mere launching points. Mods in Ready or Not are no less impressive.
We have found a wealth of amazing mods that will improve your experience in this game! While Ready or Not has a robust Player versus Player (PvP) experience, it is most popular in its Player versus Environment (PvE) mode. Therefore, you can’t go wrong with mods!
Unlike in PvP-heavy games, a modder doesn’t have to worry about maintaining a fair balance between real players. This opens up a lot of creative space for clever programmers! The ones we have found will be a great addition to your gameplay.
Where to Find Ready or Not Mods
There are many websites where you can find mods for various games, such as the Steam Workshop, but our recommended favorite is Nexus. You can filter your search on Nexus by endorsements, downloads, recent, trending, etc.
How to Install Mods for Ready or Not
Installing mods via Nexus is very simple and requires only a few steps. First, you will need to locate your folder where you have Ready or Not installed. This folder should be inside the commons folder, which is inside another folder named “steamapps.” Once you have located it, you will need to follow these easy steps:
- Download the mod from the website.
- Once you download the .rar, you need to extract it here: \Steam\steamapps\common\Ready Or Not\ReadyOrNot\Content\Paks.
- Launch the game and verify that everything is up and running, including the mod.
- Enjoy!
Best Mods for Ready or Not
Ready or Not is a fantastic game and a great spiritual successor to the acclaimed Swat 4. While that spirit gets our hearts pumping, the game can be a little rough around the edges. Thankfully, here we will list some of our favorite Ready or Not mods that either smooth those edges down or add something new and exciting.
Vest Retexture Fix
Customization is a big part of gaming nowadays. Even when playing PvE against an uncaring AI that will never call out, “Girl, work it!” many players love to dress their character in style. Ready or Not is currently lacking in fashionable flair.
Modders have attempted to work around this, but the game’s way of handling materials makes it tricky! Some failed reskin mods would cause the textures to be broken, not show the mod visuals, or even crash the game. This was a big letdown for players who wanted customization.
Our recommended mod solves the materials crisis and cooperates with other mods, allowing you to wear whatever you want. The Vest Retexture Fix Mod fixes the material of your vest so that any reskin mod can apply textures to the vests of all available officers. This will cause everyone to have a tan vest by default, but any further reskins will change the color and textures properly.
In this way, players can customize their characters with unique, eye-catching gear. If you want to spice up your equipment, you may also want to check out our guide to unlocking and using the rescue shield in Ready or Not.

Masked AMP Heads Mod for Ready or Not
For some reason, especially when playing any kind of armed forces in video games, most of us gamers prefer to have the face of the character covered. Is it for mystery, intimidation, or just because it looks cool? Who can say!
Unfortunately, right now, the only way to cover your character’s face in Ready or Not is by using a ballistic mask or a gas mask–tools that serve specific functions. This is suboptimal, as you might not need either function for your current mission. While gun customization is as diverse as a box of chocolates, options for characters’ faces are sadly lacking.
Thankfully the Masked AMP Heads Ready or Not mod lets you put Baclavas for the SWAT black and OD uniforms, letting you cover your character’s face as you wish. The mod contains the following heads: Judge, Alabama, King, Swan, Prescott, and Eli.

Everything Unlocked Ready or Not Mod
When running a mission in Ready or Not while doing a mission, you will notice that your enemies carry some tantalizing guns that are not in your armory. FOMO no more! The Everything Unlocked Mod will allow you to use every gun in the game. This is one of the most amazing Ready or Not mods and adds more than ten guns in Ready or Not, from assault rifles to sub-machine guns. This mod breathes new life into cleared missions, as you will now be able to revisit them with guns you were unable to use before.
Be aware that are currently some issues with the mod:
– Not all attachments properly work on every gun. The fix for this is extremely time-consuming.
– Some weapons already have an over barrel mounted.
– Some users may only equip the M4A4. To solve, equip something in every category and close the drop-down boxes.
Judging by his history, the creator seems to be a reliable updater. We predict he will release a fix at some point.

Better Enemy Behavior
Just like its spiritual ancestor, Swat 4, Ready or Not’s AI can act like a competent Navy Seal in one moment, but in the next moment, act like a penguin trying to shoot a gun for the first time. There is no in-between! A fumbling AI can make you feel like a god in the game, but when it pivots to act like an elite member of FaZe clan, the whiplash is intense. The AI’s behavior is quite unpredictable, and there is no balance between the type of enemies one finds in Ready or Not.
We recommend the perfect mod to bring balance to AI interactions. Better Enemy Behaviour will tweak the stats of the AI by changing their accuracy by 0.4, their time to shoot from 0.2 to 0.6, and the SWAT time with the weapon up before firing from 0.1 to 0.5
This basically reduces their aim and makes them take long to shoot.

A Better In-Game Menu
Ready or Not isn’t known for having the best menu. It’s not the worst, but it could be more intuitive. This is especially apparent in map selection and settings.
This mod, called the In-Game Menu Mod, will put most of the game’s options into one Menu. Maps, settings, status/player menu, all your mods, and a server browser will all appear in the same convenient place. This ease of use brings the gameplay up a few notches.
The In-Game Menu Mod doesn’t only improve the game menu. It also increases the player lobby limit. (The party size in Ready or Not is normally limited to five.) This amazing mod will allow you to manage your party quickly, increase it in size, and easily kick unwanted players.
Moreover, this mod overcomes a clunky mechanic. Normally, to access the maps and game modes, the player has to walk to a table, open a map, and flick through each map one by one. This gets old after a while! With the In-Game Menu Mod, you can look at custom map information, blueprints, and supporting mods without the pantomime. Players can quickly select maps and game mods and also load custom levels.
Once this mod is installed, access it by double-tapping the “DeployMenu” key to open. (default M).

Super-A Club Map
This map brings colorful tension to the game. Before a band started playing in the Super-A Club, several terrorists attacked! The player must neutralize the terrorists to save the innocent crowd. In this mission, the player must go through the long, 2-story club and bring order to chaos.
This is the best unofficial map you will find for Ready or Not, as it was perfectly crafted with a balance of visuals and good design. For more great Ready or Not map mods, check out our companion article to dig into these specific kinds of mods.
