Everyone gets bored with the same equipment being used in FPS games and therefore, we have here an article on the Ready or Not Rescue Shield to “bash away” your boredom. Many players aren’t even aware that Ready or Not has a rescue shield. Yet, as a tactical SWAT police game, Ready or Not’s developers did a great job by including it.
But it isn’t that simple because you have to do some extra steps to get that rescue shield. Here in this article, we are going to talk about the Ready or Not Rescue Shield (aka Riot Sheild) in detail and tell you where to get it.
Shields in Ready or Not
There isn’t only one shield in Ready or not, rather there are 2 of them. One being the Ballistic Shield and the other being Rescue Shield.
- Ballistic Shield: This one saves you from direct gunshots. Amazingly you can use it with a sidearm without having to do anything extra.
- Rescue Shield: Similar capability to the ballistic shield in terms of blocking bullets. Many players have reported a better field of view with the rescue shield as compared to the ballistic shield.
For a more thorough introduction on how to use both shields, check out our complete Ready or Not shield loadout guide.
Ready or Not Rescue Shield – Where is it?
The Ready or Not rescue shield is something that you can’t get that easily in the game. There is a DLC for Ready or Not that has this rescue shield available. In the original game, you can only use the ballistic shield, and no other shield is available for you to use.
The Supporter Edition of the game has this shield available, tagged under the FBI “Defender” tactical shield. You will have to purchase this DLC to use the shield. As some of the most important and fun equipment to use in the game is its tactical devices, you are missing something if you don’t purchase this DLC.
Furthermore, while the rescue shield was intended to only be cosmetically different from the standard ballistic shield, its improved field of view does provide increased utility.
Tactical Devices make things easy for specific missions as they are special and can’t be used without this special DLC. The Rescue Shield in Ready or Not is one of these tactical devices that you can get only through the DLC purchase.
Is it worth it to buy the DLC for the Ready or Not rescue shield?
In our opinion, if you want to enjoy the game to its absolute fullest, you need to unlock the tactical gear included in the Support DLC. Furthermore, you will help the developers finish this great game! Beyond that, the small boost in FOV will help hard-core fans of the game and make this DLC absolutely worth it.
For this, you will have to purchase the DLC, but if you are up for a shot, it’s worth it. In another case, if you are just playing the game as it is and don’t want to spend your money on the in-game purchase, then you don’t have to go that far. It’s completely up to you.
Can you purchase the rescue shield individually with real money?
No, you can’t have this tactical weapon by using real money. You will have to first get the DLC where you have this shield and then use it afterward in the game. The Ready or Not Rescue Shield is a piece of exceptional equipment.
While it may have been cool for the shield to provide additional gameplay or tactics
Can you use the Rescue Shield outside the DLC
No, you can’t use the Rescue shield outside the DLC because the developers have exceptional rules regarding the purchase of weapons to win the rounds. Even if you are willing to pay anything, you still can’t get something extraordinary that is better than others. Everything is perfectly balanced in the game for everything, whether you pay or not. Rescue Shield is also included here because you can only use it in the DLC, not outside the DLC.
Other Tactical Devices in Ready or Not
Just like Rescue shield and Ballistic shield, there are other Tactical Devices in Ready or Not, like the following. For more, check out our complete guide to all of the tactical devices and other equipment in Ready or Not.
- Door Wedge: it stops the doors from opening (both sides)
- Breaching Shotgun: A shotgun used for blowing doors or simply breaching
- C2 Explosive: destroying the doors (locked) and stunning enemies around
- Mirror Gun: used to look at door angles for corner checking or tripwires
- Pepper Spray: It incapacitates enemies when used on them (non-armor part)
Conclusion
Ready or not is surely one of those games where money can’t buy you rounds. Getting the Rescue Shield is proof of its own. Ready or not Rescue Shield is surely one of the craziest and funniest tactical equipment you can use but you have to get the DLC for the experience. It is not like you can’t do the mission without it, but if you are a die-hard fan of Ready or not, then surely you need to experience this equipment.
