There are plenty of Outfits in Fortnite that come about for a whole host of different reasons. The Item Shop being the most common way Epic Games release their Outfits, some are not as straightforward to come by.
Limited Time Offers, Battle Pass Rewards, and special bundles are all ways Epic gives certain characters special exclusivity. A popular method they also take is by releasing concept artwork of new characters along with a survey.
From here, players vote on their favorites, and the winner finds their way into the game.
But which Outfit should win out over all others? What is the best Fortnite survey skin today?
The Top 20 Survey Skins in Fortnite
Depending on the style you go with, Dawn is either as vibrant as her namesake or as dark and moody as dusk.
The very first Outfit to grace players in 2022 (released on New Year’s Day), Dawn was part of Chapter 3. An Epic Outfit, she was part of the Celestial Phase Set that included her Beam Back Bling.
Dawn dressed as if she wear headed to a disco on the moon. With her candy pink/white jacket and shorts, she’s constantly ready for the next party. Her look is punctuated with her yellow leggings, glossy blue top, and ombre hairstyle.
Her alternate Outfit titled Eclipse flips her color palette on its head. Here she opts for almost all black gear, with a few spots of deep pink in her hair and a crop top.
Her other half may be angelic, but D’Ark is a much darker version of her original persona.
Emerging as a Rare Outfit during Season 8 of Chapter 2, D’Ark is an alternate version of Ark. Ark being the polar opposite of her somewhat evil “twin” and vice versa, D’Ark is much more casual and modern.
Sporting a yellow and black color scheme, D’Ark is kitted out in a black hoodie with yellow sleeves. She wears black leggings on her bottom half and has an orange satchel across her chest.
The most prominent aspect of this Fortnite survey skin is her large cleaver/sword, her deceiving halo, and the proud wings on her back.

Included in one of the Starter Packs to help players on their way, Min-joon has a fearsome look about him.
Part of the Rogue Alias Set in the Item Shop, Min-joon is a Rare tier rated Outfit. Looking like he’s jumped straight out of a popular cyberpunk anime, Min-joon has a distinct neo-Tokyo aesthetic.
His black jumper and ripped jeans are contrasted by his muted yellow jacket and headband. He carries his Tactical Geom swords in each hand, and dons a half-mask to cover his mouth and nose.
Min-joon is bundled with his aforementioned swords, Alpha Cylinder Back Bling, and 600 V-Bucks. To get your hands on his Starter Pack, it’ll set you back $3.99 in the Item Shop.
A master of nightmares, Sanctum will mostly likely scare away his opponents before they open fire on him.
Using Mansu’s character model, this dark warrior arrived way back in October 2018 during Season 6. Part of the Nite Coven Set that includes his female counterpart Dusk, this great Fortnite survey skin is somewhere between a vampire and Sub-Zero.
With his half-mask, cape, and overall gothic attire, Sanctum is a vivid combatant, to say the least. However, he does have an element of color with his alternate style, Crimson. Here, he dyes his hair black and swaps his black outfit for his style’s eponymous color.
Available in the Item Shop, Sanctum will cost you 1,500 V-Bucks to unlock.
A product of a distant future, CRZ-8 is a faceless assassin dwelling in the city’s darkest corners.
A future version of the character 8-Ball, CRZ-8 (or “Crazy 8”) is an Epic Outfit in the Tech Future Pack. Similar to elements seen in other games like Ghostrunner, CRZ-8’s outfit tie him to his theme very well.
His gear is all black with white accents, and his long hoodie, track pants, and trainers give him the necessary mobility. His Lucky 8 swords and his 8-Ball face graphic are his most recognizable features.
Having been around since November 2021, CRZ-8 can only be obtained through purchasing the Tech Future Pack. This bundle can be found in the Item Shop, costing $17.99.
15. Vox Hunter
The fourth member of the Fox Clan, the jagged Vox Hunter is a relentless warrior who stalks his prey relentlessly.
An Epic tier Outfit, this double-blade wielder joined the hunt during Season 7 of Chapter 2. Described as a “Digital Avatar” by one of the game’s biographies, Vox Hunter’s aesthetic is very geometric.
Donning a futuristic ninja outfit, he wears a jacket and track pants, finished with accented red trainers. The centerpiece of his Outfit is his crimson mask, with his accent color also coming in yellow and orange.
Complete with Vox Fangs and Vox Mane Glider, this Fortnite survey skin must be bought from his Quest Pack costing $11.99.
14. Fox Fire
An armored soldier, Fox Fire faces his threats head-on. Despite his name, he is not part of the Fox Clan like the previous Vox Hunter.
Designed by the artist Bullzye, he was adapted from the “Chronic” concept. Included as part of the Onibi Set with counterpart Manic, Fox Fire is half ninja, half soldier. His default style shows him in a protective vest and tactical trousers topped off with his dragon-style half-mask.
For extra safety, you can also add his helmet as well. Unfortunately, this won’t give you extra protection from headshots. You can also turn on his Glow, lighting up his tribal sleeve tattoos, mouth, and eyes with flames.
Not every video game has a sock puppet monkey as a playable character, but Fortnite sure does.
A Rare Outfit originally released in January 2020 during Chapter 2: Season 1, Monks is part of the Sock ‘Em Set. A modest Set in reality, as this only includes his Peel Pack Back Bling.
A living puppet made from knitting and stuffing, Monks’ expressionless face can be unsettling at times. His black eyes are softened by his dull orange scarf and white arms that almost resemble oven gloves.
In Update v21,00, the cutest outfit on our list of the best Fortnite survey Skins received a brand new style called Fair Isle Royale. This style did what the name said, giving him a Fair Isle pattern on his top half, and changing his color scheme to blue and black.

12. Lt. John Llama
A man (or rather, mammal) on a mission, Lt. John Llama is out to avenge all the slain Loot Llamas in the land.
Part of the Season 3: Chapter 1 Battle Pass, Llama required the player to purchase all cosmetic items on Page 3. From there, they would have to spend 9 Battle Stars for the privilege of his service. The commando is part of the humorously named Lloose Cannon Set, containing his Wooly Mammoth Glider and Llaminator.
The soldier has a number of styles to choose from. Special Forces changes him from pink to black, in honor of the black ops he’s undertaking. He also has classic Purple, Photo Negative, Scarlet Blackout, and Gilded Reality.
However, these extra styles all cost additional Battle Stars, so start saving.
11. Myna – One of the Most Baddass Fortnite Survey Skins
Hunter. Witch. Victory Royale obtainer. There’s not much Myna can’t do.
An Epic Outfit stepping onto the scene in Season 1 of Chapter 3, Myna is part of the Witching Wing Quest Pack. Looking like a huntress with her torn clothing and animal-inspired gear, her sheathed face hides her skill and grace.
Costing $12.99, Myna required her related quests to be unlocked before giving full access to the pack’s rewards. By completing Daily Bonus Goals, the player would be rewarded with gradually increasing amounts of V-Bucks.
With her Aviary Back Bling, Bleak Beak Harvesting Tool, and Caged Swiftwing Glide, Myna’s witch/alchemy aesthetic was on point.
The 10 Best Fortnite Survey Skins
The cubed killer, Geometrik shows that it can be hip to be square.
Released back in October 2021, it’s unclear whether Geometrik is a human or some other humanoid entity. Wearing a completely black one-piece suit, Geomtrik resembles something similar to an evil Marshmello. His head is an isometric cube, with several other 3D squares sticking out of his body.
A standard Item Shop purchase of 1,500 V-Bucks, the cubed one is bundled as part of the Glyph Echo Set. He is a reactive outfit, and will glow bright purple when activated. This top survey skin also comes in an all Gold style if you’re feeling particularly flashy when playing Fortnite.
9. Tracy Trouble
Available through exclusive means, this lady is exactly what her name suggests.
Tracy Trouble was introduced in March 2022 as part of Epic Games’ Fortnite Crew subscription service for that month. This costs $11.99 per month, and grants members monthly rewards called “Crew Packs”. These contain Outfits, related cosmetic items, access to the Battle Pass, and 1,000 V-Bucks.
March’s Crew Pack was the Nobody’s Princess Set, which gave players Tracy Trouble, along with her Back Bling, Glider, and Harvesting Tool.
She also has a Dark style which switches her color scheme to a darker version of her default one.

A member of the Order of the Waning Moon, Ronin is constantly searching for a true challenge.
Arriving at the end of 2021, Ronin is a Legendary tier outfit for good reason. Specifically stepping onto the scene in Season 1 of Chapter 3, he was part of that Season’s Battle Pass.
Unlocking this survey skin in Fortnite was no small feat. After purchasing all cosmetics on Page 1, you’d need to fork out 9 Battle Stars to unlock him. However, you did get a lot in return for your spending.
Decked out in a grey vest, black/red trousers, and protected boots, Ronin is battle-ready. He has his coordinated gloves to match his footwear, and two katana sheaths on his belt.
He also has an array of different styles of his outfit. These include Default, Vest, Cape, Crimson, Azure, Emerald, Photo Negative, Scarlet Blackout, and Gilded Reality. He can also have his helmet on or off.
7. Driftwalker – The Most Terrifying Survey Skin in Fortnite
A Legendary Outfit that makes Sanctum look friendly in comparison, Driftwalker is as evil as they come.
A cursed version of the original Drift character, this demon is angry, confused, and out for blood. Released in Season 8 of Chapter 2, He is part of the Graveyard Drift Set and Quest Pack. Like the other Quest Packs, it offers V-Bucks in return for completing Daily Bonus Goals.
Driftwalker’s most striking features are his pale, corrupted skin, his Broken Fractal Wings, and his Corrupted Rift Edge swords. He’s not a cheap purchase, though, as it will cost you $15.99 to get your hands on him.
A personification of true fighting spirit, Southpaw isn’t afraid to fight dirty in order to take the win.
Like Tracy Trouble, Southpaw was May 2022’s Crew Pack reward in the Fortnite Crew service. Her look conjures images of Min-Min from Nintendo’s ARMS series, but far more evil.
Very cybernetic in nature, Southpaw’s left arm (naturally) is a ball, again similar to the Min-Min’s Megawatt arm. She also has a second variant called Crystalline which changes her colors to an ice white/blue.
5. Toon Peely
One of the most popular characters in the game, Peely has a ton of Outfits to choose from. It’s his cartoon version, though, that ranks so highly.
Eye-catchingly unique, Toon Peely would like right at home in the Disney cartoons of the 1930s. First appearing in the Item Shop in February of 2022, Toon Peely joins other Toon characters in the Inkville Gang Set. His pack costs 2,300 V-Bucks.
Still being a giant banana (obviously), Peely skins in Fortnite have become even cuter by being adapted into a black & white pencil cartoon styling. Along with other Toons like Bushy, Meowscles, and Fish, this Fortnite survey skin sits as the top banana.
Peely is clearly a fan favorite. In fact, Polar Peely made our Top 3 for the best free Fortnite skins.
Having a number of different styles, Charlotte ranks highly as one of the fans’ top skins.
Relatively easy to unlock (at the time), Charlotte was rewarded off the back of purchasing the Season 2: Chapter 8 Battle Pass. Since then, she’s seen a number of different styles bestowed upon her.
Players can choose from Tattered or Enchanted Spirit, Hagiri, and Blue, Purple, or Gold Rune variants.
She could also be found as an in-game NPC at Pleasant Park in her debut Chapter, offering missions to the Player.

3. The Burning Wolf
Yet another Fortnite Crew Pack reward, The Burning Wolf is just downright cool.
The Crew Pack for September 2021 and part of the First Shadows Set, The Burning Wolf was originally a knight skilled in sword fighting. In the game’s lore, he met Midas and became one of his first three operatives, hence his pack’s name.
With his shining wolf armor, neon pink blades, and emblazoned SHADOW style, it’s easy to see why Midas wanted him on his side.

Commander of the aforementioned Seven and former Cube King, The Origin is central to some of the pivotal events in the story. After being captured by the Imagined Order, he was rescued by the Seven, leading to him joining their ranks.
Our runner-up to the best Fortnite survey skin has a host of different Outfit styles to choose from, both armored and unarmoured. You can also change his visor style to a number of different designs, a minor but impressive detail.
The Origin required the Chapter 3: Season 2 Battle Pass to unlock. By obtaining all cosmetics on Page 7 and spending 9 Battle Stars, he would be unlocked.
1. Omega Knight – The Best Fortnite Survey Skin
The epitome of power and glory, the Omega Knight can sweep aside all who stand before him.
Part of the Honor, Glory, Gold Set from Season 2 of Chapter 3, Omega Knight can be purchased in the Item Shop for 1,200 V-Bucks. Specifically, he’s part of his Level Up Quest Pack.
