Spitfire (along with the other base characters) are the workhorses of the Fortnite outfits. There are so many attires he can take to the battlefield in. We thought we’d finally settle the debate, and rank all of his looks in one complete list. We’ll start off with some worthy honorable mentions before working our way up through the top 20, top 10, and finally on to the best Spitfire skin in Fortnite.
Honorable Mention Spitfire Fortnite Skins
We’re starting this list off with some great honorable mentions. Although they are nowhere near the best skins you can buy for Spitfire in Fortnite, they are still fun and are worth checking out.
26) Recruit
Starting with the least impressive of all of Spitfire’s outfits is the very basic Recruit outfit propping up the list of its much flashy contemporaries.
Spitfire has been around since 2017. He is one of the original 8 Recruits from Chapter 1. Moreover, he is one of the most iconic faces in the game. This is especially true among the other 25 Recruits.
This outfit ranks the lowest of all Spitfire Fortnite skins because it has essentially zero unique features to it. It is basically identical in appearance to the other male Recruit skins. Its sleeveless army vest and camo trousers give it a very simplistic and boring look.
However, this skin’s job is to not look flashy. It’s meant to make you strive for a more aesthetically pleasing and visually entertaining outfit that’s earned by playing the game’s special events, ranking up in the Battle Pass, or dropping some cold V-Bucks in the store.
So even though it’s dull, it does its job well.
25) Rookie
There’s very little that separates Recruit Spitfire from Rookie Spitfire. The only real difference is the soldier’s more youthful appearance and his cleaner haircut.
When it comes down to the visual details on his garb, Spitfire (as with all the Rookie and Recruit skin variants for all the characters) is practically identical in these two skins, which is why they rank at the very bottom.
There’s not too much more that can be said about the Rookie Spitfire Fortnite skin versus the Recruit outfit. Because they share the same look, it comes down to whether you prefer a more grizzled, rough and ready Spitfire, or the neat and trim crispness of his younger self.
His Rookie beats out his Recruit in that he has an alternate Camo version. He can don it to every so slightly mix up his wardrobe.
24) Scout
Another very standard and frankly, uninspired, Spitfire Fortnite skin is his Uncommon Scout look.
Again copying much of what is found on his Default outfit, his Scout model keeps his sleeveless top (where he’s going, he doesn’t need sleeves) and adds a darker overall tone to all of his clothing, resulting in a dark khaki vest and pants. His neckerchief is also a slightly deeper tone of yellow for those with the more eagle eye.
While there’s very little to get excited about for Spitfire’s Scout skin, it does reflect the look of a Scout very well. He’s traveling light (again, ditching those heavy sleeves). Even more, he looks nimble and ready to go at the drop of a bullet.
Outside of the globally popular Battle Royale mode that the game has made its name on, this outfit also has a corresponding look in Fortnite’s Save the World mode. Yet, in this mode, he goes by the name “Commando Spitfire”.
23) Aerial Assault Trooper
And yet another very minor alteration from the outfits we’ve seen so far (we’ll get into the more exotic skins soon I promise) is Spitfire’s Rare Aerial Assault Trooper outfit.
Unlocked by reaching Level 15 during the game’s very first season, this outfit was probably one of the first people would have unlocked through natural gameplay, so it’s not surprising to see why it refuses to veer away from Spitfire’s very grounded and original look.
You don’t have to do that much to get it, so the game isn’t going to throw too much your way in terms of a reward. Epic Games knew what they were doing even way back then when the game first came out…
Literally, the only difference with this Spitfire skin in Fortnite is that he now comes with a dark brownish helmet. The helmet has an orange stripe down the middle and red stars on the ears.
Based on the look Epic gave Spitfire here, I couldn’t not use the classic Simpsons line in this entry in some form…
22) Yuletide Ranger
Okay, we’re finally starting to see a bit more adventurous design start to happen here. And we begin the more interesting outfits with a real festive feeling.
This is obviously a skin themed for the most wonderful time of the year. It features the man himself wearing a very busy red Christmas sweater with a funky Christmas tree and fairisle print adorned on it.
His very St. Nicholas inspired jumper is paired with some stone-wash jeans held up by not one by two bulky belts, each with a chunky gold buckle. His gloves get a more green and white Christmas theme. Moreover, his noggin is topped off with an Ushanka, a Russian winter hat (also commonly known as a Trapper hat).
Now I love Christmas, and this outfit is most certainly that. The only problem with these seasonal outfits is they’re only really applicable at one very specific time of year. So if you’re running around the battlefield at the height of summer, it does look a bit off. If you love ironic comedy, maybe this is one of the best Spitfire Fortnite skins for you to pick.
21) Sinister Striker
Moving from one Holiday season to another, Spitfire isn’t interested so much in delivering presents with this outfit as he is scoring goals and performing bicycle kicks. While also pretending to be dead.
Released just before Halloween (which makes perfect sense considering the theme), Spitfire’s Sinister Striker outfit can be purchased separately or comes as part of the Dead Ball Bundle. This skins bundle contains all of the Zombie Soccer outfits for the base characters.
Far from glamorous, Spitfire in his sporty and zombified form enters the arena in a rather drab green (and quite disheveled) soccer kit. Yet it is emblazoned with the crest of the “Zombie League”. The look is then completed with socks, boots, and shin guards, and also comes with a demonic Zomball to boot (literally).
You can also customize your strip with whatever squad number you like, from 1-99.

20) Liteshow
Going from drab to fab, our next entry ditches Sinister Striker’s dull colors for a full glow up with Spitfire’s Liteshow skin.
Arriving in May of 2018 and part of the Neon Glow set (which does exactly what it says in the name), Spitfire’s usual standard fatigues are traded for a full green/blue and red paint job, even his hair gets the red dye treatment. The finishing touch is his yellow X sunglasses. That is very appropriate should you find yourself taking the victory royale.
The Neon Glow pack kind of foreshadowed the arrival of Major Lazer, the DJ landing into the game a year later as part of the Icon series and getting his own pack called the Lazerism Set.
Liteshow injects some much-needed color into Spitfire’s wardrobe, the only problem is that since it’s so bright, other players will be able to spot you incredibly easily, so it’s not very practical.
19) Striped Soldier/Sideline Commander
Calling it like he sees it, the next outfit on our list is Spitfire’s referee uniform of Striped Soldier/Sideline Commander.
Just to clarify, the reason for the two names is that Spitfire in this attire was originally released as his own thing as Striped Soldier. But then the Gridiron Gang set was released sometime after that including a number of different characters in referee and American Football uniforms. It was at this time that Spitfire had his outfit name changed to Sideline Commander to fall into line with the other skin names.
While it’s not spectacular, Spitfire looks like a stern official that you wouldn’t want to contest a decision against. He sports the well-known referee outfit of black and white stripes. This time, he does actually have sleeves. It also comes along with a fitted baseball cap that carries the same theme.
18) Radiant Striker Spitfire Fortnite Skin
Going back to his classic look but with a more colorful twist is Sptifire’s Radiant Striker outfit, and is the second of four total Striker skins for Spitfire in Fornite available at the moment.
This Rare variant of everyone’s favorite original cast member came along in Season 3 and is purchasable from the store for 1,200 V-Bucks. While he’s not as explosively out there as his Liteshow outfit, (in my humble opinion) I think this benefits him as it’s still expressive without being too over-the-top or gaudy with its approach.
Spitfire’s clothing remains the same as his base model, but the color palette on his clothing (although mostly just his vest) is now a pearlescent red/pink blend, making him look that much more interesting but still tasteful.
17) Super Striker
Staying up front with yet another Striker Fortnite skin is Spitfire’s representation of Epic/Fortnite’s celebration of arguably the biggest event in soccer. This is the FIFA World Cup.
Included as part of the Goalbound Set that was released in 2018 to coincide with the Men’s FIFA World Cup tournament, Spitfire (along with all the other base characters) threw on their jerseys and shorts to show that they could kick it.
Super Striker’s “normal” look is that of a generic soccer kit, with a continuous blue and purple mix design that leads from the top onto the shorts, accompanied by white sports socks and cleats (that of which also have a purple stripe on).
Like the Sinister Striker skin, the back of your jersey can be set with any number from 1-99, but Super Striker has the additional customization of being able to be visually influenced by selecting a country’s flag to be associated with it.
E.G., selecting the Brazil flag will colour your outfit green and yellow, selecting England will turn it red and white, etc.
16) Maximilian Skin for Spitfire in Fortnite
Stepping back in time and up in the skies for our next entry, Spitfire sticks true to his aviation namesake as he dons the Maximilian outfit.
In this sky-bound swag, the very proud-looking soldier is suited and booted in a brown aviation jacket, accented with a pale blue on each side under the arms. He’s also got some hefty gloves to get to grips with whatever task may come to hand, but the cherry on the literal top of the cake is his aviation helmet and goggles that add some real authenticity to the piece.
Maximilian is (naturally) part of the Aviation Age set that also comes with the Cloudbreaker, Airheart, and Wingtip outfits for other characters, as well as some unique Back Bling, Harvesting Tool, Contrail, and Glider.
Even with all these additional items, it’s clear that Maximilian is the best thing in the kit (of course)…
15) Giddy-Up
Okay, so it may be ridiculous, it may be goofy, and it would in no way be practical for any kind of actual warfare or hostile engagement, but let’s just call it what it is, it’s Spitfire in a Llama outfit. There are plenty of worse things you could be wearing…
The Supply or Loot Llamas are an iconic part of Fortnite, so it makes complete sense that it would become a part of someone’s outfit, and who better than our guy Spitfire?
At first glance, it seems as though Spitfire is astride the mighty steed in this silly Fortnite skin. However, look closer and you’ll see that the legs that sit upon the Llama are just an illusion, and it only appears as if the soldier is riding his stallion into battle.
Obviously, there’s a heavy dose of sarcasm in that last paragraph, but Giddy-Up is nothing if not a fun outfit to jump into. You’ll stick out like a sore thumb, but imagine being the person that loses a gunfight to someone dressed like this…
14) Jumpshot
Leaping right out of that playful Llama suit and into a fresh tip-off is another athletic entry, this time from basketball as opposed to soccer with the Jumpshot Fortnite outfit.
Looking like a mix between a Chicago Bulls player in the 1990’s and the Wildcats from the High School Musical series, Jumpshot gives Spitfire a cool and loose look with a red basketball jersey, accented with black and white trim. The color palette is then reversed on his shorts, the look topped off with red and white sweatbands on his wrists.
Jumpshot isn’t too flashy of a Spitfire skin, but his casual and carefree aesthetic gives him a vibe that exudes “cool”, and he looks like he could dunk on you without even trying.
13) Wild Gunner
Like or loathe this outfit, one thing is truly undeniable; Spitfire has some serious swag when he’s rocking his Wild Gunner skin.
What’s quite out there considering it’s classed as an Uncommon outfit (and therefore costing only 800 V-Bucks), Wild Gunner has Spitfire representing some serious style. His silver gilet with the red X is a fantastic break away from his standard battle fatigues, supported by his silver gloves & armbands, mesh vest (with dog tags) and his red-lensed silver shades.
Not stopping there, his lower half is a pair of crimson alligator skin trousers, held up by a belt of bullets.
There’s a lot going on here, and it all helps make Spitfire one of the coolest cats on the battlefield.
12) Brite Blaster
The Brite Blaster Fortnite Spitfire skin just pips ahead of its alternate color palette, mainly spawning from my own bias’ as purple is simply the best color…
To be perfectly honest, these skins are basically interchangeable, but buying this outfit will also earn you the Brite Bashers Harvesting Tool, so you do get more for your money when compared to the Wild Gunner.
Also, Brite Blaster has a bright pink hairdo. I think that settles the debate.
11) Brite Gunner
The last of the Brites, this Epic outfit is not just another remix of colors like the previous two entries. This Gunner stands alone (but does have a teddy bear on his chest).
Brite Gunner is sending out happy and positive vibes with his ripped tank top, complete with the aforementioned smiling pink bear covered in an explosive mushroom cloud. He’s probably smiling because he’s holding two automatic weapons, but each to their own.
In this great Spitfire Fortnite skin, he dons a pair of (what looks like) spandex leggings, has one fingerless purple glove, one arm covered in futuristic-looking armor, and has dyed his hair blonde, just because.
Brite Gunner is the craziest or most vibrant skin out there, but it does make a statement. That being “I’m happy to be shooting at you”.
Top 10 Spitfire Skins in Fortnite
10) Bronto
He’s wearing a dinosaur outfit. Surely I don’t need to explain why this ranks as highly as it does?
Looking like a very aggressive (and slimmer) version of Barney, Spitfire rocks this full-body outfit with great aplomb. His cheeky smile just poking through the mouth of the sadistic cartoon carnivore.
Much like the Giddy-Up outfit, getting bested by someone wearing this outfit is something you’ll want to forget quickly.
9) Reflex
Reflex looks like he’s about to hack into the mainframe, as well as being some kind of unofficial ambassador for Microsoft’s Xbox.
There’s actually a bit of controversy behind this outfit. Initially, Reflex was a special outfit given to people who’d purchased an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, 1070, 1050, or 1050 Ti Graphics Card through the Store, and wasn’t accessible by any other means.
About six months after his initial appearance, Reflex appeared in the Item Store, and people were not happy about this giveaway, resulting in Epic releasing another variant of the outfit as a way of apologizing to the angry fans.
Ironically, I’ve ranked his new outfit higher than the original.
8) Hyperion
Hyperion is where Spitfire really starts to get serious with his looks.
This Spitfire skin in Fortnite gives him the eye of the tiger, as well as the overall look of one as well. Once again ditching the sleeves, his orange-yellow gradient vest and blue headband give off that true gladiator feel.
The skin truly shines if you pair it with the Striped Stalker Back Bling. This combination gives you the tiger head holding nunchucks on your back.
If that doesn’t make your foes think twice about sneaking up on you, I don’t know what will.
7) Stratus
Stratus looks like he’s got to head to the club straight after grabbing the victory royale, as his style looks like it’d be right at home in the clubs of downtown NeoTokyo.
Spitfire’s Stratus model has a real punky, urban feel to it. His hoodie jacket with spatterings of neon purple has an “infection” look to it, as does his frayed white t-shirt. His skinny black jeans and chunky sneakers round off his rebel attire to let you know he’ll shoot you out of their air like he just doesn’t care.
He also has a “Red” variant that changes the color palette of his look (which also makes Spitfire clean-shaven) and is unlocked by completing Overtime Challenges.
6) Blue Striker Skin for Spitfire in Fortnite
Looking like something akin to a cyborg, we arrive at our final Striker outfit with the very exclusive Blue Striker skin.
Stepping straight out of 2077 with his VR-esque helmet and cyberpunk-themed jacket, complete with his blue jagged streaks, Blue Striker is a special gift for PlayStation Plus subscribers that could be claimed at the PlayStation Store in the PlayStation Plus Celebration Pack 2.
Exclusivity is a huge thing when it comes to these types of games, so running around the map in a skin that players can’t buy or unlock through conventional means is a way to make yourself really stand out. This time though, you’re standing out for all the right reasons.
5) Knockout
It might seem unusual to have an Uncommon skin rank so highly on the list, but Spitfire gets his Knockout outfit all the way up here for one main reason…
Admittedly it’s not far ashore from his regular clothing, in fact, there are just some splashings of yellow markings accompanied by an ominous facemask. But, the chief reason why Knockout sits all the way up here is that the outfit makes you look like one of gaming’s greatest badasses, the ninja specter Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.
Throw this outfit on and you can make a victory royale…GET OVER HERE!
4) Bone Wasp
Strolling onto the scene as if he were some sort of childhood boogeyman invented by Stephen King, Spitfire’s Bone Wasp is a creepy beast that seeks to haunt and stalk his enemies before taking them out.
Most of Bone Wasp’s outfit is anything too extreme: he’s got a yellow puffy jacket, black lightweight hoody, orange/white undershirts, all of which is held together by a large gold charm necklace.
Then you take one look at his face and realize where he gets his name. The Bone Wasp Spitfire Fortnite skin has an eerie wooden mask with demonic eye holes (made more demonic by Spitfire’s bright red eyes) that give him a constant “I’m going to eat you whole” expression.
Not in any way creepy.
The Best Spitfire Fortnite Skins
3) Stealth Reflex
The fact that this makes the outfit the top three considering it was made as an apology is pretty good going, so stand proud Stealth Reflex. Stand proud. Stand tall.
Just to quickly reiterate, Stealth Reflex is an off-shoot of the original Reflex outfit after fans of the game were pretty upset about the formerly exclusive skin popping up in the Store, so Epic Games very rapidly released this variant which actually looks more visually impressive.
Now covered in all black gear (which appears to be a wetsuit of some kind possibly?) including a balaclava, cap, and headphones, Stealth Reflex is additionally protected by his vividly red tactical vest.
Stealth Reflex looks exactly how you’d want to look in a PvP setting. Silent. Dangerous. Covert. Lethal.
You’ll never see him coming.
2) Runner up for the Best Spitfire Fortnite Skin – Funk Ops
Shifting away from the seriousness of Stealth Reflex for Spot #2 is an outfit suffering from a deadly case of Disco Fever, this being the Funk Ops outfit.
Funk Ops is bringing back the soul of the seventies, with its quintessential afro haircut, headband, and gold vest which has clearly been made from the remnants of shattered disco balls. Even the wrist mount is sparkling with furious funkness.
Funk Ops also has an equally awesome Remix outfit having a more modern funk look, altering Spitfire’s haircut and facial hair, and swapping the straight edge triangle glasses for a more circular and bold white pair.
1) The Best Spitfire Skin in Fortnite – Nite Gunner
So here we have it, the absolute number one Spitfire outfit. Quite frankly, there was always going to be a clear winner, and that outfit is none other than the Nite Gunner skin.
Nite Gunner would be right at home in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (which is appropriate seeing as members of the MCU seem to fit right in when it comes to Fortnite) and you wouldn’t bat an eyelid if he told you he hung out regularly with Shazam and Black Adam.
In a completely black set of attire and having whitened eyes, to say Nite Gunner resembles a superhero of some kind isn’t too crazy of a statement. The dude just looks so darn cool.
So there we have it, that’s every Spitfire Fortnite skin!
