The Halo series has some iconic weapons, but nothing comes close to the M41 SPNKr. This weapon has seen a lot of iterations throughout the series. For the most part, the rocket launcher in Halo Infinite has remained the same great power weapon players love to use. Since 2001, the double-barreled rocket launcher has been a mainstay in the Halo series.
The rocket launcher is one of the most powerful and versatile power weapons in Halo Infinite. In some previous Halo games, it could lock on to vehicles, both surface and air. However, Halo Infinite has slightly changed the rocket launcher to be more balanced.
This beginner guide on how to use the M41 SPNKr will help you secure kills very easily with this weapon. Technically, it is very hard not to get a kill with this weapon since all you have to do is aim in a general direction and shoot. However, there are still some tips to know to make sure you get the most out of this awesome weapon.
M41 SPNKr Rocket Launcher General Information

The M41 SPNKr is a heavy ordnance weapon used by the UNSC (United Nations Space Command). It is manufactured by the Misriah Armory, which develops many of the UNSC weapons and armor. The M41 SPNKr is a double-barreled rocket launcher. The twin barrels allow the weapon to fire rockets in quick succession.

This weapon has very little ammo capacity. Each magazine can only hold two rockets, and a total of eight rockets can be carried at once. Depending on the distance of the splash damage, it will either kill your opponent outright or deplete their shield.
Best Halo Infinite Maps for the Rocket Launcher
The M41 SPNKr works great on every map; this is why the weapon is so versatile. On smaller maps that are meant for 4vs4, it excels. The maps are much smaller, and it is easy to get with due to the rocket not having to travel long distances. M41 SPNKr is the ultimate infantry killer and is great for killing groups of enemies.
The Rocket Launcher is perfect for Big Team Battle as well. It can take out most light and medium-sized vehicles in 1 and 2 rockets. This weapon works well when playing objective-based game modes from the Rubmle Pit as well. It can clear out the objective of enemies so your team can push. However, since this weapon lacks a lock-on feature, it is not well suited for taking out air vehicles. The Skewer is much better for that because its projectile is much faster than the rocket.
It doesn’t matter which map you play on. As long as you can grab this weapon, you are at some type of advantage.
Tips and Tricks to Using the Rocket Launcher in Halo Infinite
Lead For Travel Time
The Rocket Launcher’s rocket can take some time to reach the target, especially if they are far away. At close range, this isn’t too much of a problem, but anything further than that, you risk missing your target. The rocket doesn’t have any drop-off, so try to predict where your opponent is going.

Aim At A Surface
The best tip when using the M41 SPNKr is to not go for direct hits. Instead, try to get kills from the splash damage the rocket does. Not only does this increase your chances to secure a kill, but it also helps hit players behind cover. If a player is sitting around a corner, the Rocket Launcher will make quick work of him, even if you don’t see him. Just aim at a surface where you know it will cause damage.
Hide While Reloading
This is a simple tip but is still a must-know. The M41 SPNKr takes a long time to reload. If you are out in the open, it is sure to be certain death for you. So when you have to reload it is best to switch to another weapon or find a hiding spot and reload the weapon. A good spot to hide is near your teammates where you know they will cover you while doing so.
Don’t Waste Ammo
I have seen this all too often. Many players will fire off both rockets as quickly as possible. However, sometimes the kill will be secured after the first rocket. This means that you are wasting ammo on a dead body.
When it comes to using the Rocket Launcher in Halo Infinite multiplayer, you want to use the ammo as efficiently as possible. So take one shot and see if the player dies. If not, then finish them off with a kinetic weapon like the Battle Rifle if their shields are depleted or with another shot of the Rocket Launcher if you missed.
Repulsors Can Reflect
This tip is useful for knowing when you have the Rocket Launcher and when you don’t. The Repulsor can reflect the rocket at an opponent. So it is important to be careful when using facing an opponent with one of these on. A lot of players will try to anticipate the rocket. If they use it before you fire, then they have a short cooldown before they can use it again. Now is the time to fire.
If, however, you have the Repulsor, try to put some space between you and the player with the Rocket Launcher so you can have more time to react and reflect the rocket.

Friendly Fire is Possible with the Rocket Launcher in Halo Infinite
The M41 SPNKr has a big splash radius, so you have to be careful when it comes to firing it next to teammates. While it will do reduced damage to a teammate, it can still kill them. If an opponent has damaged your teammate a few seconds before you accidentally kill your partner, the kill will go to the last enemy player that damaged him.
This is also true about damaging yourself. Firing up close can end up killing you and your opponent, in which case the kills offset each other.
Final Thoughts on How to Use the Rocket Launcher in Halo Infinite Multiplayer
In short, the M41 SPNKr is the ultimate power weapon. While it may not be as strong as the Skewer when taking down vehicles, it is still very reliable in doing so. The M41 SPNKr, however, excels at destroying infantry and light vehicles. This weapon is also great for earning killing spree mythic medals in Halo Infinite.
The weapon’s splash damage and radius aren’t as big as in previous games, but it still gets the job done efficiently. Securing this weapon during matches will give you and your team a huge advantage. It allows you to score easy kills, push the enemy base, or capture the ball if you are playing an objective game type.
