To get good at a competitive FPS title like CS:GO, one should be familiar with the game’s mechanics, maps, and other fine details. The best way to do this is by joining a practice match with bots. However, one annoying thing that makes practice modes insufferable is running out of in-game cash, as you need to buy guns and equipment each round. But what if you had infinite cash?
When you have infinite money when practicing in CS:GO, you need not spend your mental energy on budgeting. Fortunately, the game has a way to achieve this state of financial bliss. Whatever you need infinite cash for–weapons, utilities, or Kevlar–having this option is ideal. So, in this article, we will demonstrate how to add unlimited money to Counter-Strike Global Offensive practice mode.
Practice Makes Perfect in CSGO
Learning a game like CSGO requires a lot of attention and patience. It is a game of skill and communication.
Most Counter-Strike Global Offensive players compete for ranks based on their talent, and it can be cutthroat. Skilled players are often so accurate that they can assassinate you before you even know to check your six! Newcomers to such a competitive game may struggle to keep up.
When experimenting with the different tactics and weaponry available in Counter-Strike:Global Offensive, having unlimited money allows you complete freedom. For example, using infinite money during practice could help you find your sweet spot when firing your ammo-hungry AK.
So how do you get infinite cash in CS:GO? Since the beginning of this fantastic franchise, the developer console has always been a feature. The initial versions would have to be enabled through Half-Life on the console. You can use this console to enter commands and access various hidden features and settings in-game, including a way to get infinite money.
Keep in mind that these commands mostly only work in practice modes.

How to Access the Developer Console to Enter the Infinite Money Command in CSGO
There are numerous game modes available in CS:GO. Beginning with the typical competitive mode and progressing through other casual modes such as Arms Race and Deathmatch to the Danger Zone. We can also play these modes with bots or friends on our own custom servers. And you can pretty much do whatever you desire in these custom games as long as you use the proper commands. And here’s how you get infinite cash in these custom games.
The first step is to enable the developer console. Complete the following steps to accomplish this:
- Open Steam and Launch CS:GO.
- Open settings by clicking the gear icon on the left side of the screen.
- Once in the setting window click on the game settings (game tab), click on the dropdown menu next to “enable developer console” and select yes.
- The developer console is enabled through the (~) key under the ESC key on the keyboard. Players can also change the key that opens the console through the in-game settings menu under the “UI Keys” section under “Keyboard / Mouse,” or through the console itself by typing this:
- bind “KEY” toggle console
For example, if players wanted to use the “K” button on their keyboard to open and close the console, the command would look like this:
- bind “k” toggle console
The (~) key is shown below;

How to Enter the Infinite Money Command in CSGO
Once the developer console is activated and you can simply go ahead and input the commands to get the money. But before doing so it is important to know that other options can also be changed via the developer console. If you make a mistake, you might change a bind that you don’t want to.
Note: Even though we are referring to the CSGO command as infinite money, technically, the maximum amount of money permitted is 65535. No matter what number you choose above that, it will max out at 65535.
After the developer console is open, carefully type or, even better, copy and paste the commands below into it. When you do this and hit enter, you will be able to add infinite money to your CSGO practice round after restarting the game. Here are the required commands;
- mp_maxmoney 65535;
- mp_startmoney 65535;
- mp_afterroundmoney 65535;
The ideal sequence of using the above commands is as follows:
mp_maxmoney 65535;mp_startmoney 65535;mp_afterroundmoney 65535;mp_restartgame 1
Following are some additional commands to make the practice mode even more productive and effective.
- mp_buytime 60000;
- mp_buy_anywhere 1;
- mp_roundtime_defuse 60;
- mp_roundtime_hostage 60;
- mp_roundtime 60;
- mp_restartgame 1
As for why the maximum amount of money you can have is limited to 65535, it might be interesting to know that CS:GO records the amount of money you have as an unsigned 16-bit integer. Because unsigned 16-bit integers can contain numerical values up to 65535, the maximum amount of money in Counter-Strike is 65535.
