The Ambassador has been one of the most underutilized weapons in the history of Warframe. Since its release, this multipurpose gun was filled with bugs that most players didn’t realize the weapon had to begin with. Years later, the Ambassador has finally had the clean-up and polish it deserves, and the gun finally works as intended.
Where to Farm the Ambassador
Recently the Ambassador’s farming location in Warframe has been updated and moved to a brand-new area. To farm this weapon, you require a Railjack. For newer players, if you don’t have a Railjack yet, you must complete the Rising Tide questline.
The entire quest line involves going around and gathering different parts of the Railjack to build one. Since the beginning of The New War, the downtime waiting for each piece to build has been drastically reduced.
Once you have a Railjack, you will need to acquire strong enough ship parts to take on the Veil Proxima, one of the late-game Railjack mission areas. Another option is if you have a friend who already has a geared-up Railjack, they can take you into the Veil Proxima with their ship. On top of using a friend’s ship, if parts or new guns drop for your Railjack, you can craft them without requiring lower-level parts, making it a fast way to upgrade your ship.

Farming on Veil Proxima for the Ambassador in Warframe
Once you reach the Veil Proxima, you can farm all the parts of the Ambassador in the Lu-Yan survival mission. We are choosing the Veil Proxima because of the higher drop rate. You can farm the Ambassador in any Corpus tileset, but the Veil Proxima has a 16% chance of dropping the Blueprint, while the other zones only have an 8% chance. The Ambassadors Blueprint only drops from the C rotation of the mission, so you will have to stay in the survival mission for a little while before you get a chance.
The Ambassadors barrel, stock, and receiver drop from Raknoid enemies in Warframe, each with a 5% chance of dropping. Don’t let the low drop rate discourage you; these enemies can spawn somewhat often in the Veil Proxima due to the survival missions’ higher starting level.
Ambassador Breakdown
This weapon is an automatic hitscan weapon with two different firing modes. The first mode the Ambassador has is its regular machine gun mode. Switching to its secondary fire puts the gun through a unique changing animation before turning into a charged railgun.
The Ambassador has a great base status chance of 26% but a low crit chance of 14% and a crit multiplier of 2.8x. The charged variant has an increased base status chance of 32% and a 16% crit chance. The standard firing mode also fires an additional 600 Electricity damage, while the charged shot does an extra 800.
Typically, the charged variant is part of the gun that we recommend using over the standard mode like the Epitaph, but we can’t thoroughly recommend this playstyle in Warframe for the Ambassador. The charged variant is powerful and does a lot of single target damage, but it has ammo problems. One charged shot takes half the magazine to fire. Firing usually around two shots will force you to reload.
The other downside of the Ambassador is that the reload animation is very long in Warframe, and you will have a long pause of downtime while you are swapping mags. The animation to change the weapon’s firing mode is also fun to look at but also takes a long time.
The pros of using this weapon are the high fire rate, the hardly noticeable base recoil, and the high-status chance.
Mixed Corrosive Build
Our top recommended build is leaning into the weapons base strengths with its natural status chance and extra electricity damage. First, let’s turn this into a corrosive weapon. Adding Malignant Force adds the toxic elemental affinity and increases the status chance to pair it with High Voltage for the same effect but electricity.
Heavy Caliber is a good choice for its increase to base damage at the cost of accuracy. If you want to lean into the base damage a little more, add Serration and Split Chamber. Hunter Munitions also helps if you’re going to have extra bleed damage to have a more significant effect on killing armored targets.
Crit Build for the Ambassador Weapon in Warframe
Lastly, if you still want some crit in your build, you can slot in Critical Delay, Vital Sense, or even Galvanized Aptitude or Galvanized Chamber if you want even more crit damage. The high crit damage does make the secondary railgun feel even more powerful, but it still chews through ammo.
If you want some status chance and crit in the Ambassador, we recommend using Malignant Force and High Voltage in Warframe still. Alternatively, if you want Viral, you can swap High Voltage for Rime Rounds. Then use the previously mentioned Galvanized mods and Hunter Munitions.
If you don’t have any Galvanized mods, you can buy them from the Arbitrations vendor in the Arbiters of Hexis room in any Relay for 20 Vitus Essence. You can acquire Vitus Essence by completing any Arbitration mission.
The Ambassador is a Good Warframe Weapon
We recommend the Ambassador as a status weapon, mainly utilizing its primary fire over its railgun feature. The gun still chews through ammo, and the railgun mode speeds this process astronomically. Crit is still viable on this weapon, but its fire rate and status chance make melting Steel Path enemies much quicker than having inconsistent crits. Paired with the proper secondary like the Epitaph makes for an excellent pair to shred through any enemy. As always, good hunting, Tenno!
