Halo Infinite has introduced some new weapons to the Halo Universe and most of them have become fan favorites. However, one weapon isn’t picking up as much steam as the weapons. The Disruptor is seeing very little overall weapon usage in Halo Infinite. It is a shame because this weapon has a lot going for it. Some pro Halo players are picking up this weapon more and putting it to good use.
The Disruptor has a lot of potential and many uses, making it perfect for most game modes other than Team Deathmatch, due to having a slower kill speed compared to other weapons in Halo Infinite. However, it more than makes up for this with its flexibility, low recoil, accuracy, and ability to hit groups of enemies.
Disruptor General Information
- Weapon Type: Pistol
- Manufacturer: Armory of Reckoning
- Ammunition Type: Shock
- Magazine Size: 10
- Rate of Fire: Automatic
- Perfect Time To Kill (Multiplayer): 6 Shots
The Disruptor is a weapon mainly used by the Banished in Halo Infinite. It is an automatic pistol that deals shock damage to opponents. It holds 10 shots per magazine and has a fast firing rate. While not as fast as the MA40 Assault Rifle, it can still unleash a good amount of bullets in a small amount of time. The Disruptor is a small sleek weapon with a minimalist design.
This pistol is versatile and has a good amount of uses outside of just doing damage. It will take some time to get the hang of it, but once you do, it can be hard to put down. It can take down other players in around 6 shots. After 6 shots, the opponent’s shield will be depleted, then you can let the damage over time effect finish them off. This can take a few seconds, so it is best to hide or after.

Best Maps to Use the Disruptor on in Halo Infinite
Depending on the map, there is going to be one reason you will be using this weapon. The Disruptor is a close-to-medium range weapon, even though it is very accurate. With that in mind, if you are playing on Arena (4v4) maps, then you will be using this weapon to disrupt the enemy team. Using this weapon on these maps during objective games, you will be able to split the team up, while also getting kills. This makes the weapon very good on every Arena map, except maybe Behemoth.
For players that prefer Big Team Battle in Halo Infinite, the Disruptor will be great at stopping vehicles dead in their tracks. Vehicles are much easier to hit compared to Spartans that are jumping and sliding everywhere. So even from a distance, this weapon can be very useful.
With how many players are in Big Team Battle, the Disruptor is not very useful for actual combat. In Big Team Battle you want to kill the enemy as fast as possible to capture the objective before their teammates come in. It is best used to stop a vehicle that is carrying your flag or so you can hijack it.
Tips and Tricks to Using the Disruptor in Halo Infinite
The Disruptor is not meant for players new to Halo Infinite. It takes time to fully utilize this weapon to its full potential. Most players will think this weapon isn’t good because the damage is mediocre. But there is way more under the hood of this weapon. It is mainly used to provide support and disrupt the enemy team. Here are some tips that important if you want to use this weapon to its fullest.
Multiple Disruptor Shots Cause Damage over Time in Halo Infinite
After 3 shots, the Disruptor will apply a damage over time effect to the player. It will constantly tick away the shield and then health. There are about 5 ticks before it stops and needs to be applied again if the opponent didn’t die from it. A good strategy is to hit them with 6 shots and then focus on someone else if possible. 6 shots are more than enough for them to die of the damage over time effect.

Disruptor Shots Stop Shield Regeneration
This tip goes with the one previously mentioned. Sometimes you can’t secure the kill but stopping an opponent’s shield from regenerating can take them out of the fight. Because of the Disruptor’s damage over time effect, it stops them from regenerating their shield for a long time. Players with low shields usually play passive, letting you gain map control.
Arc Lightning
Another thing that makes the Disruptor deadly in Halo Infinite, is the ability to hit groups of enemies. Like the other shock weapons, dealing damage to an enemy while their teammates are nearby will cause a chain lightning effect. The lightning will arc to them and do damage as well. The damage is slight, but every little bit counts in a team fight.
Stuns Vehicles
Also, like other shock weapons, this weapon can stun vehicles when hit with enough shots. It takes around 6 shots to stun any vehicle to cause an EMP and shut down the vehicle for a few seconds. This gives you time to do damage or hijack it. This is great because the Plasma Pistol no longer stuns vehicles in Halo Infinite.
The Disruptor in Halo Infinite is Accurate with Little Recoil
This weapon is very accurate and has little recoil and bloom. Feel free to fire this weapon as fast as possible. There isn’t any reason to use control bursts. Since the weapon is so accurate you want to apply the damage over time as fast as possible.
Final Thoughts on Halo Infinite’s Disruptor
At first, the Disruptor might not seem like a good weapon, but it can be dangerous in the right hands. The Disruptor has so much utility in Halo Infinite that there is always a situation for it. The Disruptor is the perfect name for the weapon because it can take someone out of a team fight quickly. It may not kill immediately, which can be bad for Team Deathmatch games, but it is powerful in objective-based game modes like those found in the Rumble Pit playlist.
The Disruptor pistol in Halo Infinite can stop vehicles, force players out of fights, and damage multiple players at a time. This weapon might be a pistol, but it can do a lot of things, and you can’t go wrong with picking up this weapon.
