Since Halo Infinite’s launch in November of 2021, the game has undergone a handful of changes. Some adjustments for the game have made improvements, while some were admittedly moving backward. One of the many problems currently in Halo Infinite is its hacker problem. Cheaters and Hackers have been less active in comparison to the game’s launch, but there are still quite a handful around. Our helpful guide will show you how to report a problem player in Halo Infinite.
Before reporting any player for suspension of hacking or cheating, make sure to have any of the following information to file a report:
- The Gamertag of the player you are reporting
- Evidence of the incident can include photos or recordings that can be accessed in the Theater mode.
Reporting Halo Infinite Players on PC
To report a hacker or cheater in Halo Infinite Multiplayer, you must follow these steps:
- Go to the Halo Waypoint Support Site.
- Sign in at the upper right corner and log in with your Halo Infinite account.
- Scroll to the bottom of any article and click the submit a ticket button below the “Was this article helpful?” section.
- When you start the process of submitting a ticket, choose the Report a Player issue type.
- Fill out all the information in all required fields.
- Provide any photos or video evidence.
How to Report Halo Infinite Players on Console
There is no way to report someone from the Xbox interface directly. Instead, Halo Infinite will open a browser tab that allows you to file a ticket directly from Halo Waypoint’s site.
- Enter the Pause Menu by pressing the Menu button on your controller.
- Navigate to the Social menu by using the View button.
- Select the player you want to report, thus opening the Player Options menu.
- Scroll down in the Player Options menu and hit the Report player prompt.
- Confirm you want to open the browser after getting the prompt.
- Select “Halo Safety – Report a Player” when at the “Please choose your issue below” section.
- Fill the ticket form out.
- Attack any evidence like photos or recorded footage.
- You can also upload media to your ticket by replying to your support ticket email on your mobile phone or PC to the Halo Waypoint site.

Muting Annoying Players
Another UI feature that is somewhat hidden in Halo Infinite’s menus is the ability to mute people in the middle of the match. Sometimes you don’t need to know how to report a player in Halo Infinite. Sometimes muting is enough when others are being downright annoying.
Firstly, if you never want to have voice chat in the first place, you can disable all voice chats in the audio menu.
- Open the settings menu.
- Navigate to the Audio section.
- Scroll down to the bottom and find the Communication section.
- Select Voice Chat Mode and disable it.
If you like to have communication outside of just using Halo Infinite’s new pinning system, but you still want to know how to mute players from time to time, follow these steps:
Muting on PC
- Press the Escape key.
- Hit Tab
- Choose the person you want to mute
- Hit mute and close the menu.
Muting on Console
- Press the Start button.
- Press the Windows button.
- Choose the person you want to mute
- Hit mute and close the menu.
Whoever you choose to mute will remain muted for the entire match or whenever you decide to unmute them as per usual.
Wrap Up
Sadly, no actual in-game interface allows seamless or easy ways of reporting players. However, even if it takes significantly more time to report someone, encouraging that evidence must be provided is a positive note to prevent players from rage reporting others.
Even if you don’t think a player doesn’t deserve a report, at least the mute button is still in-game. Sadly, it requires flipping through menus instead of a small button you can press whenever you view the scoreboard. Hopefully, this short guide on how to report a player in Halo Infinite has helped silence or ban players who deserve it.
