Collecting and trading items is one of the cornerstones of Dark and Darker. There are lots of items that are restricted to different classes, but can you transfer or trade items between other characters? The market economy is separated into two parts, NPC prices, and player-made trades.
This guide will focus on helping your trade items between your own Dark and Darker characters. For information on how to make the most of the game’s player-driven economy, check out our other guide on how to trade in Dark and Darker.
Can you trade items between characters in Dark and Darker?
Currently, there is no efficient way to trade items between your own characters. All character inventories are separate, with no general storage or bank-to-store items.
If you obtain a bunch of amazing Rogue gear or weapons on your Fighter, there is no easy way to transfer your loot to another character. However, there is another way if you have a friend to assist you.
You Can Get Over the Restriction with the Help of an Ally
If you have a friend, there is a slight workaround that will let you trade items between your Dark and Darker characters, regardless of the restriction.
Recruit one of your friends and meet them in one of the trading taverns. Open up a trade and give them any items you would want to transfer to another character. After the trade is complete, switch to the character you want to transfer the gear to and open another trade with your friend, and hopefully, they will return your items to you.
There isn’t any other workaround for Dark and Darker’s restrictive inventory, so if you don’t have any trustworthy friends to help transfer your items between characters, you might be out of luck unless the developers add a new feature for item transfer.
How to Trade in Dark and Darker
If this is your first time trading, here is a small breakdown of how to trade in Dark and Darker.
You can sell any item, weapon, or armor you obtain from exploring the dungeons, to Merchants and Travelers at the prices set by them. Instead of selling your items to Merchants or Travelers for low gold, you can trade your valuable items in the Trader’s Guild with other players. But, before you are allowed to trade, you need to meet a few straightforward requirements from the Trade Master.
The requirements are the following:
- Your character must be at least level 5
- You must pay an initiation fee of 25 Gold
- Each exchange will cost 15 Gold
After you become a trader, you can sell and trade items in the Trader’s Guild. Navigate to one channel that corresponds with the class, and look for specific items or people to trade with. You can request to trade with anyone in the lobby as long as you are on the same server. You cannot exchange items with players on the EU server if you’re on the NA servers.
Conclusion on Trading Items between Dark and Darker characters.
That’s our short guide on some workarounds for trading items between your Dark and Darker characters. Hopefully, there will be a small storage or separate inventory that will allow us to store a limited amount of items for all characters on our account. An account-wide inventory like Diablo 3’s storage chest would be a good addition for Dark and Darker.
