We have been playing Halo Infinite for weeks, but one thing that really bothered us was where in the world are these skulls everyone is talking about? In order to retrieve these skulls, we had to play the game once again from the start to ensure that we didn’t miss out on any of these, and it was a hectic experience. However, we did all the hard work, so you won’t have to.
There are 12 Halo InfiniteSkulls. We can find some of the Skulls as we explore the open world of Zeta Halo. However, five of these infinite skulls are only available during missions. We only get a single chance to grab them since we can only play each mission once per save the file.
We will walk you through each and every single one of these skulls while telling you what they do, how you can get them, and most importantly, where you can get these infinite skulls. The guide will start with the mission-specific infinite skull locations because the open-world skull locations can be accessed whenever we want; hence they are low on the priority list.
Mission specific Halo Infinite skulls locations
1- The Boom Skull
The first skull we will find in Halo Infinite is the Boom Skull. In fact, the location of the boom skull is in the game’s first mission called “Warship Gbrakkon”. It is a long mission, and we won’t blame you if you could not find the Boom Skull on your first attempt. When we find the audio log on the warship, we can be certain that we are on the right track and are only a couple of rooms away from the Boom Skull.
As we proceed further and head outside the ship, we need to take the elevator and go up. We need to keep on moving, and eventually, we will get to a circular room. In the very next room, our Boom Skull is hidden. This room might seem a little overwhelming, as there are elevators everywhere, and one of these elevators is hiding our Boom Skull. You need to walk up the ramp in the very front and then turn around to explore the area in front of our eyes. We will see these moving elevator platforms working on our left, and need to skip the first elevator and stand in front of the second elevator. Master Chief can jump on this platform/elevator, and as we move up, we notice a little shining skull in front of our eyes.
We can also use our scanner to ensure that this is the right location.
Congrats you got your first skull!
We just retrieved our first skull, and this Boom Skull will also alter our gameplay experience! The Boom Skull doubles the explosion radius for you and your enemies when you throw grenades or explosives of any kind throughout the game. This is a double-edged sword that will definitely raise the stakes and importance of explosives throughout the rest of the game.
Note: Brutes will consistently come at you, so make sure you take care of them first before looking to retrieve the skulls. Not every Halo Infinite skull location will be lurking with enemies so don’t feel overwhelmed.
2- The Cowbell Skull
The second mission-specific skull we will find in Halo Infinite is the Cowbell Skull. We can find the Cowbell Skull in the mission called “Foundations.” We need to fight our way through the crumbling Foundation, and eventually, at the end of the long elevator passage, we will reach a large atrium. You can confirm that we are in the right spot if The Weapon says, “There is something up ahead. I can feel it calling out to me”.
We have to go left, and eventually, we will see a huge pillar. We can go ahead and run a scan while facing upwards to see if we can find the location of the Cowbell Skull. Still, there have been cases where the scan fails to detect the skull leaving the players frustrated. Hence we will tell you the exact location of where you can find the skull.
The right approach is to use your grapple gun and climb on top of the pillar in front of us to look upward and a little to the left. We will see another pillar with a quadrilateral, and we need to aim at the bottom of this gap. We will glide towards this, and there lies our Cowbell Skull, waiting for us to retrieve it and change our gameplay experience forever.
The Cowbell Skull increases the acceleration of the explosion. This once again goes for both your and your enemies’ explosives.
3- The Mythic Skull
We have to warn you before proceeding further. The Mythic Skull doesn’t give you any buff but only makes things more difficult for you as your enemies will have increased health. If you are still determined to find all the skulls and explore all the skull locations, then we can go ahead and tell you how you can find the Mythic Skull.
It is once again a Halo Infinite skull location that we can only find in a mission called “The Command Spire.” The Mythic Skull’s location is easy to miss but also easy to go to. During the mission, we will reach this huge hall where these high-tech cargo is being teleported through these orange color gates. However, at the end of this hall, we will see these blocks changing their direction and start moving towards the right instead of going straight ahead. This is our pivot point.
We have to grapple onto one of the incoming containers and get on top of them. The next step is to face towards the end of the room and see a huge wall in front of us. We can look up a little and see the ledge to use our grapple gun. However, when we reach this spot, we are blinded by darkness, so turn your flashlight to allow you to see the next area we need to go to.
In the direction of the right wall, we can see a platform where we can go and see a door opening for us. All we need to do is to follow the path that this door opens for us, and we will enter a room where the Mythic Skull is being safeguarded. We can safely retrieve the skull as there are no enemies in this skull location.
4- The Grunt Birthday Party Skull
The Grunt Birthday Party Skull is one of the most difficult skulls to retrieve in Halo Infinite. Precisely, it is essentially the most time-consuming due to the number of steps involved in retrieving it. It is the second last Halo Infinite skull location that we can access in the missions only. It spawns in the mission called “Repository”.
At one stage of the mission, we will reach an enormous area where a light bridge is at the center of the whole space. If we look at our left and right, we will notice two doors. We need to visit both these spaces one by one and need to start with the right one. We can use our grapple hook from the middle, but if you cannot pull that off successfully, you can try to reach the spot from the edges of both ends of the room. This will reduce the distance you need to travel and make things easier.
We need to retrieve a power seed when we enter the first room. We can easily get this after scanning the room and using our grapple hook. The next step is to transport this power seed to the other side: the room to the left of the light bridge. We will follow the same method discussed previously and then go to the left room. We can use our scanner and find a box to plant this power seed. However, nothing will happen, and we have still got some way to go to retrieve the Grunt Birthday Party Skull.
Not done yet!
We have to continue the mission, and when we enter the third room after that, we will notice two pillars and an open window above them. This window wouldn’t have been open if we didn’t plant the power seed previously. We can use our grapple hook to climb to the spot; however, we need to be careful that enemies are lurking in the dark here. We don’t need to worry if we are playing on the easy difficulty. Still, things might get trickier if we have increased the difficulty and have retrieved the Mythic Skull previously.
The Grunt Birthday Party Skull will ensure you see some celebratory dances from the dead grunts when you land a headshot. Sounds cool, right?
5- The Bandana Skull
The last of the mission-specific skulls is called the Bandana Skull. Personally, it is my favorite Halo Infinite skull as it finally gives us something that we can use without any limitations. The Bandana Skull grants unlimited weapon ammo and removes equipment cooldowns. In short, you have infinite ammo, so there is no need to count your bullets anymore.
The Bandana Skull can be retrieved during the campaign mission called “The Silent Auditorium”. We have to be careful as this is a stealth mission where we need to ensure we don’t kill any Sentinels. There is only one space throughout the mission where we will encounter Sentinels. In the next room is our Bandana Skull.
If we are playing on the easy difficulty, we can just run down the path and enter the next room to retrieve our Bandana Skull. However, things get messier when we are playing on the legendary difficulty. The best approach is to jump from where we enter the room and use our grappling hook on the bottom of the platform that we need to cross to reach the next room. It will reduce the damage taken from the legendary enemies, and we will reach the location of the next skull alive.
We can continue going ahead until we reach the spot where we need to activate a light bridge. We can proceed with our mission by moving to the left after we cross the bridge; however, if we didn’t harm any sentinels earlier, we will see the second bridge in front of us that we can cross. We can head in this direction and enter a new room where we can retrieve the Bandana Skull from the top of the hexagonal pillars.
Open world Halo Infinite skull locations
We highly recommend collecting these skulls after you are done with all of the mission-only skulls. It would ensure that you are at a high level and have an upgraded armory. We also need to ensure that we have at least 2600 Valor, as that grants us the ability to spawn a WASP which is practically an airplane for you, to reduce the travel time between different destinations.
1- The Catch Skull
The Catch Skull can be obtained from the most northern part of the Zeta Halo. It is fairly easy to retrieve it as only two Hunters are guarding the skull location. You have already upgraded your inventory to take care of them without any serious trouble. The best approach is to hit them with your WASP and lower their health before finishing them off.
The Catch Skull is located inside a broken tree stump behind these two banished Hunters. We can follow the lake and, at the right, see the skull in all its might. What does the Catch Skull do? It allows the enemies to throw and drop more grenades. In simple terms, more explosions and more fireworks to entertain us!
2- The Fog Skull
The Fog Skull is situated on the Zeta Halo surface. There are two ways to retrieve the Fog Skull: WASP or Grapple Hook course. While just using a flying vehicle sounds pretty efficient, it is not as fun as using your Grapple Hook and experiencing how fun it is to find things after working hard for them.
The Fog Skull’s location is pretty easy to find. We will find a lone stuffed toy just lying there for no reason at all; however, it is, in fact, an indicator for the Fog Skull location. The skull is directly above this toy, and we can get there either by making some fancy hook jumps or just following the obvious path in front of us. It is entirely up to you and depends on how much time you want to spend on the whole process.
The Fog Skull disables the motion tracker on your bottom left. The majority of the player base doesn’t like the tool anyway, so you won’t miss out on much.
3- The “I Would Have Been Your Daddy” / IWHBYD Skull
This is probably the coolest sounding skull of all the skulls, but it doesn’t really do much if we are being honest. The IWHBYD Skull unlocks rare combat dialogue that you can hear while shooting down some enemies. We can find the IWHBYD Skull at The Tower. There are again two methods to retrieve the skull. We can either grapple our way to the top, or we can actually fly there with the WASP.
My personal recommendation is to use the WASP as it takes quite some time to climb The Tower, and it isn’t necessarily easy too! The skull is present at the top, and you can retrieve it without any trouble. However, the main attraction here isn’t the skull but an easter egg regarding Craig!
If you don’t know who Craig is, we have got you covered. When the first trailer for Halo Infinite came out, the fans were left flabbergasted at the lack of good graphics in the game, and one of the Brutes that appeared in the trailer was named Craig by the Halo community. The name stuck with the developers, too, and after fixing their graphics-related issues, they added a poster of a music tour of Craig here with songs like “The Day You Become A Meme” and “I Got Tears Last Summer”.
This is so hilarious and definitely that every fan that participated in the memes regarding Craig should see with their own eyes!
4- The Blind Skull
The Blind Skull turns your game into a theatrical experience as the HUD and all of the information on your screen is vanished, making you practically blind. We can travel to the Southwestern part of Zeta Halo with the help of our WASP, and here we will see two cliffs that are joined together by this huge rock between them. The next step is to land on top of one of these hills and then look down at the spot where they are joined.
We will be able to see a metallic platform that is emitting blue light. We need to take the leap of faith and get down there. It is pretty straightforward from here. We need to follow the blue light below us and take it wherever it indicates us to go.
We will eventually reach the spot where the Blind Skull is hidden away, and this is where we say goodbye to our HUD.
5- The Thunderstorm Skull
The Thunderstorm Skull is really fun to retrieve. If you ever wanted to do parkour, then this is the one that will test your skills. We can also retrieve it with the help of the WASP, but where is the fun in that, right?
We can find the Thunderstorm Skull can on the top left edge of the southeastern region of the map, on top of a single metallic hexagonal pillar. When we retrieve the Thunderstorm Skull, the level and durability of enemies are increased, which obviously makes things more difficult for Master Chief and us.
The best method is to use your WASP and get on top of the hill and then look at the hexagonal pillars below. Please make your best Spiderman impression and jump towards it. It is highly unlikely that you will get the landing right on your first attempt, so don’t be discouraged from trying again. You can also use your grapple hook and immediately climb the pillar after failing the landing.
That’s how you can get the Thunderstorm Skull, but we recommend you don’t get it before completing the campaign missions as that will make things unnecessarily more difficult for you.
6- The Famine Skull
The Famine skull sits on a towering, isolated island in the southeast corner of the map, so you’ll need an air vehicle to reach there. The Famine skull may be found on this island, adjacent to a dead Elite wearing golden armor.
It is one of the few Halo Infinite skull locations that require a flying vehicle, so make sure you have the 2600 Valor we previously talked about. When we reach the island, we can notice that there are some huge pillars on the backside, and this is where we will find our dead Elite.
The Famine ensures that the weapons dropped by the enemies only contain half the ammo they normally would. It is once again something that isn’t going to be really helping us in the campaign missions, so avoid retrieving it before you have finished the entire campaign.
7- The Black Eye Skull
If you were a treasure hunter and had to hide your most valuable possession, where would you hide it? How about in a cave behind a waterfall? That’s exactly where The Black Eye Skull is hidden away!
When activated, the Black Eye Skull prevents your shields from recharging until you land a melee attack against enemies. On the southern island around midway between FOB Juliet and Riven Gate Banished Outpost, there is a waterfall. If you look at the right side of the waterfall, approximately at the middle, there’s a concealed tunnel which is the Black Eye Skull location.
It isn’t easy to see this tunnel that leads us to the cave as when we look up, our eyes get showered with water from the waterfall. However, the grapple hook will do the work for you if you aim towards the right. It was the last Halo Infinite skull location of this guide and you will finally get your hard earned trophy!
