Gunfire Reborn is a chaotic and colorful rogue-lite that offers countless hours of replayability by mixing RPG elements to keep your runs fresh. There are several ways to upgrade your damage in Gunfire Reborn: through mastering Elemental Fusions, stacking critical chance, and much more. Today we will look into one of the more complex stats in Gunfire Reborn that can increase your damage, Lucky Shot.
What is Lucky Shot in Gunfire Reborn?
Lucky Shot is a random chance to multiply a weapon’s damage by a certain amount based on your current Lucky Shot Chance. Lucky Shot is similar to stacking Critical Chance in other games. However, Lucky Shot can override your average weapon damage if you obtain 100% Lucky Shot Chance or higher.
However, Lucky Shot doesn’t influence all damage types in Gunfire Reborn. Lucky Shot can’t boost skills, elemental effects, and certain particular damage types caused by Ascensions, Occult Scrolls, and Inscriptions. However, this rule has some exceptions, like Ao Bai’s Lucky Ammo or Unleashed Potential.

How does Lucky Shot Increase your Damage in Gunfire Reborn?
Gaining any percentage of Lucky Shot Chance works similarly to gaining Critical Chance, but both stats are separate. If you have 0% Lucky Shot Chance, your gun will deal 100% of its normal damage. However, if you gain a 50% Lucky Shot Chance, your weapon will have a 50% chance to deal double damage. Suppose you gain 100% Lucky Shot Chance; every bullet will deal double damage.
So, gaining 100% Lucky Shot Chance will guarantee the next hit will result in double damage, and the damage number will be colored orange in contrast to critical hits being yellow. Increasing your Lucky Shot Chance increases this multiplier from 2x, which is orange, 3x purple, and 4x red.
Lucky Shot Chance | Regular Damage Chance | 2x Lucky Shot Chance | 3x Lucky Shot Chance | 4x Lucky Shot Chance |
0% | 100% | |||
50% | 50% | 50% | ||
100% | 100% | |||
150% | 50% | 50% | ||
200% | 100% | |||
250% | 50% | 50% | ||
300% | 100% |
Lucky Shot Chance can go beyond 4x by going past 300%, but the damage text will remain red regardless. Also, suppose a Lucky Shot occurs simultaneously with a critical hit in Gunfire Reborn. In that case, it overrides the crit’s yellow color, thus changing it to either orange, purple, or red depending on your level of Lucky Shot Chance.

What is the Difference Between Critical Hits and Lucky Shots?
Lucky Shots are random, but Critical hits aren’t. In Gunfire Reborn, a Critical Hit is guaranteed only when a hit from a weapon strikes a weak spot on a target. Weak Spots are typically headshots, but some enemies have different weak spots, like Act 1’s Golem boss has a weak spot in their chest.
Every weapon has its own CritX multiplier, which multiplies the damage of the crit. CritX can be modified by other effects, such as inscriptions or talents. Precision weapons such as Sniper Rifles often have a higher CritX than other weapons, but most explosive and melee weapons cannot naturally crit.
Although most explosive guns and melee weapons cannot naturally crit, you can obtain certain Occult Scrolls like Wait For Good or Deadly Counter, which allow them to critically strike.
Do Critical Hits Stack with Lucky Shot in Gunfire Reborn?
In Gunfire Reborn, critical hits stack if a lucky shot occurs simultaneously, resulting in ludicrous amounts of damage. For example, if you have 2x CritX and 100% Lucky Shot Chance (2x damage), this results in 4x damage.
