For those who are tempted to dive into Hunt: Showdown before and are finally deciding to give it a try, it’s the perfect time to join the fight against the monsters of Louisiana. Hunt: Showdown’s first event of the year starts on March 24th and runs until April 14th, giving you a chance to acquire some new guns, skins, and even a new Legendary Hunter. The Traitors Moon event brings forth another free event pass that is 100% free and can be fully unlocked by just playing the game.

How to Earn Points During the Traitor’s Moon

Much like Hunt: Showdown’s previous event, the Winter Solstice, you will gain points toward your event pass by completing Bounty Hunts or destroying thematic Effigies around the map. It’s the same standard for obtaining points from previous events like looting Hunter corpses, extracting with a bounty, or picking up Clues or Rifts will give you progress points for the event.

All the ways you can collect points and how much each give is:

  • Destroying Small Orwellian Effigies – 4 Event Points
  • Destroying Large Orwellian Effigies – 8 Event Points
  • Investigating Clues and Rifts – 12 Event Points
  • Destroying Effigies dropped by bosses – 4 Event Points for each Effigy dropped
  • Loot Hunter Corpses – 20 Event Points
  • Extract with one bounty – 30 Event Points

Extra Ways to Receive More Event Points

For those newer to the game or who haven’t been involved in a Hunt: Showdown event before, your Dark Sight is used for a handful of things, but mainly for seeing Clues, Rifts, or the boss of the area it is located in. When you have Dark Sight active during the event, you can see white outlines of Effigies that you can destroy for additional points. These Orwellian Effigies can blend in with the map exceptionally well. They can be very hard to spot without using Dark Sight.

One way to boost your event progression is to obtain a Chary’s Contract, which allows you to earn a 50% Event Point booster and gives you an additional Dark Sight boost. The Chary’s Contract also gives you an extra 20 meters of your Dark Sight, allowing you to see those Orwellian Effigies much further than usual. However, Chary’s Contract only lasts for a few hours, and the event pass only gives you two of them for free; otherwise, they need to be bought from the store.

Legendary Hunter Stories

For the first time, the Traitor’s Moon event focuses some of its story on a few selected Legendary Hunters; The Turncoat, Kid, The Rat, and Llorona’s Heir. These Legendary Hunters will have The Signee Trait icon in the store. So, check for it before using your Blood Bonds or Hunt Dollars. Using these few Legendary Hunters gives a 10% Event Point booster, and an extra 3-meter Dark Vision boost built-in whenever you play as them. This is pretty fun, as Hunt: Showdown has some terrific lore for interested fans to discover.

After any first successful run, you can start to equip your favorite traits to help your hunter become stronger and deadlier with a cost of Trait Points based on how many levels or enemies you killed while out on the bayou. The Traitors Moon also brings an event-specific trait to the table, which can also help boost your point gain so long as your hunter lives. The new temporary trait Signee Increases your Dark Sight by 3 meters and boosts your Event Points by 10%, and costs a large sum of 10 Trait Points to purchase. You cannot find this trait out in the bayou; it doesn’t drop from Meatheads or doesn’t come free when you buy a Legendary Hunter. If you think spending 10 Trait Points is worth it, the choice is up to you. Yet, it does stack with other boosters.

What Can You Earn During the Traitor’s Moon Event in Hunt: Showdown?

The Traitors Moon event in Hunt Showdown allows Hunters to get their hands on some new guns that are currently in Early Access. These guns include the Scottfield Brawler, Caldwell Model 92 New Army, Winfield Model 93 Slate, and the Berthier Riposte. The event pass also brings new Legendary Skins for weapons and equipment that will stay with your account as usual, even if you decide to prestige.

Here are all the rewards you can obtain during the Traitors Moon Event and how many Event Points are Required to get them all.

Therefore, if you are nearing level 100 and looking to prestige, this event can help you get your money back quickly once you’re done with the event pass. Make sure you grab what skins look interesting to you. We have no idea if they will make a return once they are gone.
