In Warframe, you live and die with the mods you have equipped in your arsenal. Of course, some mods are more accessible to obtain than others, but typically you have to rely on being blessed with good RNG. A handful of aura mods can be obtained from Nora Nightwave and go through a weekly cycle. Nora’s Nightwave Offerings cycles through many mods, including Dead Eye and Rifle Amp but no Pistol Amp Warframe mod or Shotgun Amp Aura mod.
Pistol Amp is a highly sought-after mod for those who choose to main Mesa and said mod drops after completing The Silver Grove questline.
How to Efficiently Complete The Silver Grove
The Silver Grove is an optional quest available after you have finished The Second Dream. The quest has multiple stages, requiring you to learn how to craft a set of items called Apothics. You are able to start this quest at any time by visiting the New Loka Syndicate in any relay and asking about the Silver Grove Shrine.
Obtaining the Nightfall Apothic Blueprint
The first blueprint you will receive is the Nightfall Apothic; make sure you have a lot of Codex Scanners for the entirety of this quest. To make one Nightfall Apothic, you will need to scan and obtain Dusklight Sarracenias. They can be found in Grineer Shipyard Nodes on Ceres. Both Pallas and Ker are the best places to find Dusklight Sarracenia; make sure to check around the pools of toxic waste.
Next, you will need Moonlight Dragonlilys found on Grineer Forest missions on Earth during the night cycle. Lastly, you can obtain Sunlight Threshcones on Earth during the day in select Nodes. Both Threshcones and Dragonlilys can be found in Mantle, E Prime, or Cervantes. Once returning to the shrine, you will need to gather various new resources for your next Apothic.
Twilight Apothic Blueprint
The second blueprint you obtain is the Twilight Apothic. The plants you will need to scan will be the Moonlight Jadeleaf, which happens to be quite rare and only spawn in Earth’s forest regions at night. Next, you will need to obtain Ruk’s Claw, a resource that can be obtained in Ara or Hellas on Mars. Lastly, you will need to get some Lunar Pitchers found in Copernicus on Lua. Return to the Silver Grove shrine once again, moving on to the final phase of this scavenger hunt of a quest.
Sunrise Apothic Blueprint
The final Apothic blueprint you will receive is the Sunrise Apothic. You will need to find a few Sunlight Jadeleafs, which share the exact same location as the Moonlight Jadeleaf after sunrise instead of nightfall. Frostleaf is found only on Corpus Outposts on Regna, Venera, or Galatea; all three being on Pluto, Venus, and Neptune, respectively. Lastly, you will need Vastan Moss found on Mercury’s Asteroids, specifically M Prime and Caloris.
At this point in your quest, you may be wondering if it was such a good idea to go through all of this hassle for the Shotgun Amp and Pistol Amp Warframe mods. Don’t worry, you’re almost there. After making all these Apothics and completing the quest, you can return to any Grineer forest mission to reactivate the shrines and summon these Specters once again.
Farming Specter Mods
As you complete the Silver Grove quest, you will learn that three Specters spawn depending on which Apothic you use to activate the shrines. Each Specter comes with a different appearance, move set, and unique mods that each have different chances of dropping when slain. All Specters also have a chance to drop a few Stance mods for melee weapons after they are defeated.
Knave Specter Farming for Pistol Amp Mods and Other Drops
The first Specter many players come to kill is the Knave Spectre. It only spawns by offering a Nightfall Apothic. The Specter resembles Loki and has access to all their abilities. The Knave Specter has around 4 different mods that they can drop, the first of which being the Pistol Amp Warframe mod which increases the pistol damage by 27% in an Aura.
The second mod the Specter drops is Growing Power, which makes applying Status Effects with weapons increase your Ability Strength by 25% for six seconds. The percentage of each mod they drop is:
Aura Mods
- Pistol Amp 51%
- Growing Power 6%
Stance Mods
- Blind Justice 36%
- Crimson Dervish 6%
Orphid Specter for Stand United and Brief Respite Auras
The second Specter is the Orphid Specter, only spawned by offering a Twilight Apothic at any shrine. The Orphid Specter is a Saryn replica who has access to her abilities. This Spector drops the Stand United mod, which increases armor by 25.5% in an aura.
The Orphid Specter’s second mod is Brief Respite, which converts 150% of Energy spent into shields on any ability cast. The percentage of each mod they drop is:
Aura Mods
- Stand United 30%
- Brief Respite 38%
Stance Mods
- Atlantis Vulcan 21%
- Crossing Snakes 10%
Feyarch Specter to Get the Shotgun Amp Aura Mod
The final Specter is the Feyarch Specter, which takes the appearance and abilities of Oberon. The Payarch Specter can only be spawned by using the Sunrise Apothic offered at any grove shrine. This Spector drops Shotgun Amp, increasing Shotgun damage by 18% in an aura similar to the Pistol Amp Warframe mod.
The second mod is Empowered Blades. This mod increases Status Chance and Damage on heavy melee attacks by 60% but drains 90 of your own shield per hit. The percentage of each mod they drop is:
Aura Mods
- Shotgun Amp 51%
- Empowered Blades 6%
Stance Mods
- Final Harbinger 36%
- High Noon 6%
Extra Tips for Farming to Get the Damage Amplification Mods Faster
Scanning all these plants across different planets can be a pain. This is especially true on Earth with the slow crawl of a day/night cycle that the planet has. One of the Sentinels, Oxylus, can help with this process by taking the active hassle out of scanning each plant you come across.
In order to further improve the ability that the Oxylus provides, you can buy an extra mod from Cephalon Simaris in any relay. For 75,000 Standing, you can purchase the Botanist mod, which allows Oxylus to scan plants within 50 meters over two seconds. Each Botanist scan consumes a codex scanner, Making the scanning process hands-free and getting rid of all the hassle.
Improving Drop Chances for the Shotgun and Pistol Amp Warframe Mods
In order to further exploit the drops of the Specters, you might want to use a Warframe that can modify your drop chances. Nekros’s Desecrate works on the Specters, allowing additional drop chances when the Specter is defeated.
When it comes to Augment mods, there are a handful that may help increase your chances. These mods include Pilfering Swarm for Hydroid, Pilfering Strangledome for Khora, and Retrieve for Kubrows all increase the likelihood of Specter mods dropping.
It is highly recommended to at least bring along one of these Warframes in order to make this task more efficient. On top of all that, you can bring two different Apothics into a mission and use multiple in a mission. As you are only able to bring two Apothics to each mission, instead of three, it is recommended to stack them in your gear wheel while preparing for the mission. Instead of completing the mission with one Specter at a time, you are able to summon multiple Specters so that you are able to properly minimize the time spent farming them.
