The Summoner’s Court Bug In Hogwarts Legacy
The Summoner’s Court is the Gobstone-like Accio competition held on the lawn outside Hogwarts’ west tower. On each round, the player and their opponent take turns using Accio on three boulders to score points, just as it was introduced in Professor Ronen’s Accio lesson.
Now, the issue arises from opting not to retry one of the rounds after being defeated in it. After doing so, the player will be able to go on with their game, mostly unaffected. Except, if they try to have another go at Summoner’s Court or even just step onto the Summoner’s Court platform.
Stepping onto the platform after choosing not to retry a lost round will cause the player to have an immediate game over upon leaving the platform. It also prevents them from speaking to their Summoner’s Court opponent, who is on it.
Or, in a video (because it’s also a funny bug to watch):

Why this Bug Occurs
The Summoner’s Court bug happens in Hogwarts Legacy because, upon being on the platform, the game considers that the player is playing their match again. As such, leaving it means abandoning the quest area (even though the game forgoes the 15-second countdown and assigns a game over immediately). That is also why it is not possible to talk to the opponent – if the player is considered as having already talked to them.
So if you want to avoid any issues, don’t choose not to retry after losing a match of Summoner’s Court and choose Try Again instead. (Alternatively, just don’t lose in the first place, I’ve learned that many problems can be avoided simply by being better.)
Note: It is unknown whether this bug has a 100% reproduction rate. If you gave up during a match and didn’t run into any issues, that’s good. Feel free to let us know! Yet, you may also not be as lucky.

Fixing The Summoner’s Court Bug In Hogwarts Legacy
That bug’s fix is very simple, for once. Step onto the Summoner’s Court platform, leave the platform, and select “Abandon Quest” on the game-over screen.
That’s it! You can now try the quest again or just stroll through the Hogwarts grounds without randomly exploding when walking over the wrong spot.
It is surprisingly inconsistent with the previously found bugs and their respective fixes. However, it is important to note that none of the options, such as abandoning the quest from the menu, leaving the area, waiting through a one-day cycle, or using some of the tricks that worked for other bugs, will solve this situation.
