Eagle eggs are a valuable resource in the world of Nier: Replicant. Yet, they can be hard to come by if you don’t know how to farm them effectively. Eagle egg drops are necessary for the On the Wings of Eagles quest, as well as for the Phoenix weapon upgrades.
Luckily for you, we’ve put together this helpful guide on how to farm eagle eggs in Nier: Replicant so that you can get your hands on those precious eggs with ease. Read on as we share everything there is to know about farming these prized eggs!
Where To Find Eagle Eggs in Nier: Replicant
There are two places to find eagle egg drops. One eagle egg location is in the Aerie, while the other one is in the world of the Recycled Vessel. This area is accessible after beating the route A in the version 1.22 of the game, or in the DLC of the original version.
Eagle Eggs in the Aerie
The eagle egg location in the Aerie is under the mayor’s house.
To access this spot:
- Enter the Aerie (you’ll want to save the game)
- Cross the two bridges
- Climb the ladder on the right
- Cross the bridge on the left
- Go down the ladder on the left
- Take the right path under the chief’s house
To farm eagle eggs there, save the game at the post box at the entrance of the Aerie, then advance on the bridge until you can spot the eagle egg spawn area under the chief’s house.
If it has a shiny spot, head over there and see if the item is an eagle’s egg. If not, exit the game, reload the save, and try again from the postbox.
Nier Replicant isn’t known for its quality of life, and farming eagle eggs will require patience. There is no guarantee that an item will be there, and even if the house does have a shiny spot, it is more likely to be for items other than eagle eggs.
Eagle Eggs in the World of the Recycled Vessel
The second place to farm eagle eggs is in the DLC area, accessed through the shiny spot in Nier’s house after completing the route A (in the remastered version of the game).
In 15 Nightmares, head to the door on the right, then complete levels until reaching the third dungeon. The crates in that area can drop an eagle egg, making this another potential farming spot.
For optimal eagle egg farming, rush to the third level and break all crates. Afterward, to save time, jump off the bridge at the end of that dungeon to die and return to the main game.
How Many Eagle Eggs Are Needed In Nier Replicant?
You need a total of five eggs over the course of Nier Replicant to 100% the game. One eagle egg is used for the “On the Wings of Eagles” quest of the tavern keeper, and the other four are needed to upgrade the Phoenix weapons.
On the Wings of Eagles
After completing The Tavern Keeper’s Grandmother, the tavern keeper has this next quest to give you when you talk to her.
To complete this quest, you need to deliver an eagle egg to the tavern keeper, who will use it to make medicine to save her grandmother. Bring the medicine to said grandmother in front of the fountain in the Village, and the quest is done!
The Phoenix Weapon Upgrades
Each Phoenix weapon requires eagle eggs to be forged from level 2 to level 3. They need the following (among other materials):
- Phoenix Dagger: 1 eagle egg, 6 silver ores, 2 broken earrings
- Phoenix Sword: 2 eagle eggs, 3 gold ores, 1 complex machine
- Phoenix Spear: 1 eagle egg, 2 gold ores, 1 broken wristwatch
So if you’re looking to either platinum Nier Replicant or just to access more of the weapons’ stories, you’ll need to be ready to farm. Head to the Aerie, get your save ready, and hunt for eagle eggs!
Nier Replicant, thankfully, doesn’t require all weapon max ranks to unlock its endings, unlike Automata. So a regular completion of the game won’t require any of that grinding. But the Phoenix weapons are among the best in the game. [Weapons guide]
That being said, eagle eggs are also among the materials that can be sold for the highest price at 4800 gold, so if you have no other need for them, go ahead and recycle them that way!
… Yes, that is more gold than the reward for the quest needing this same item.
