Tellerium is one of the rare metal resources to obtain in Warframe, mainly for its specific mission drop, which is also a low percentage chance. There are multiple ways to attempt to farm Tellurium in Warframe. I will be going over a few different methods to make this process much faster for you.
Farming Tellurium from Archwing Missions
Tellurium is a rare drop from Archwing, Grineer Sealab, Railjack missions, and the Kuva Fortress. For Archwing missions, if you want to try and farm mods or don’t have Nekros yet to help with farming, head over to Salacia on Neptune, or try Ophelia on Uranus for a regular mission. Also, running capture mission types on Uranus or Kuva Fortress is a faster and more linear way to farm through missions quickly.
Tellurium has a slight chance of dropping from almost all enemies within that mission. Additionally, since it’s a mobile defense, they never stop coming. Enemies in Salacia are not hard to kill. They range between levels 27 and 32, unless you are farming in Steel Path, of course.
Bringing the Itzal Archwing makes this farm even faster and easier with its Cosmic Crush ability by sucking all nearby enemies into a black hole. Using an area-of-effect like the Kuva Grattler can also help clear through tons of enemies fast with puncture damage and high critical chance pairs well with the Itzal. Of course, using any Archwing is fine, but the Itzal helps more in this scenario for Mobile Defense.
Best Warframes to bring to Farm Tellurium Drops in Warframe
Out of all these missions, I would recommend Ophelia; pairing with a good squad or even using a Nekros can help boost the Tellurium Warframe drops rate. It isn’t a very high chance without a Resource Booster.
Nekros for Farming Tellerium in Warframe
If you have a Nekros, I highly recommend going into a Survival Mission and using the Despoil Augment Mod. Despoil allows Desecrate to no longer consume energy but uses health per corpse instead. Desecrate also works exceptionally well with Slash damage because Slash has a chance of cutting a corpse up into several pieces that are all treated as different drops for Desecrate. This can really get your enemies to drop tellerium in greater numbers.
Using a weapon with high Slash or even squadmates using slash weapons can help increase the additional chance of any resource dropping. Sadly, Desecrate from different Nekroses does not stack on the same corpse.
If everyone stays in the same area for tellurium farming, then bringing more than one Nekros doesn’t help you collect these rare resources. However, if you cover different parts of the map, bringing more than one still can work but is ill-advised.
Other Warframes to Bring
Kora for her Strangledome ability to help ensure and lock down a place in Survival Missions or even Defense Missions. I would also recommend Saryn for the easy and passive damage she brings with Spores and Miasma. These make her one of the strongest characters in the game at the moment.
Gara can also fill the same spot as Kora for her Spectorage and Mass Vitrify abilities. Even Octavia, all her powers have massive area-of-effect damage and some crowd control. She also provides free energy to her teammates whenever she uses her abilities like Metronome. Perhaps even a rare case of Hydroid with the Pilfering Swarm Augment Mod would be a good idea. Even if just for its ability to have enemies drop extra loot when killed while being held by Tentacle Swarm.
Spare Parts Method to Farm Tellerium in Warframe
A more consistent way to obtain drops from missions is to bring any Sentinel and use the Spare Parts mod, which has a 45% drop chance of a rare item on death. Nearly half of your Sentinel’s deaths have a chance of dropping one Tellurium. Exiting your Warframe using your Operator’s Void Form allows your Warframe not to take damage, but your Sentinel still does.
Afterward, you can revive the Sentinel or die yourself and repeat this process until you are on your last life. If you have squadmates and everyone brings Spare Parts, the drops from their dead Sentinels can also be picked up by anyone else, just like any other resource drop.
This method to gain Tellerium Warframe can be done faster in Capture Missions on Kuva Fortress or Uranus by blazing through the mission and capturing the target as usual. Then by proceeding to the end of the mission, repeating the Spare Parts drop process, and reviving near the exit for an easy and quick mission. Try to take a resource drop chance booster. This can help since this is still considered a standard drop chance by the game’s standards.
Best Method to Farm Tellurium in Warframe
Out of all the listed methods, I would recommend using the Spare Parts method, especially if you are running solo or explicitly looking for Tellerium only. However, if you have a couple of friends to farm with or just looking to farm Tellurium passively for whenever you might need it in the future, hit up a Survival mission and make sure someone brings Nekros.
