There are many weapons to choose from and upgrade in Cultic. Like all retro FPS games, some guns have ammo easily obtained from all lesser enemies. At the same time, stronger weapons have limited ammo drops/ Each gun is crafted to have a place and a purpose against low and high-tier enemies. However, even the basic Handgun can pack quite a punch when fully upgraded.
Cultic has several opportunities to find Weapon Parts either in secrets or at Workbenches, allowing you to purchase any upgrades without being locked behind an upgrade tree. Even if all weapons have four options, there are a few choices you should get early on.
Handgun
The Handgun got the most use during our playthroughs of Cultic, and we highly recommend putting the most resources into improving this gun. The Handgun is the first weapon you obtain and has a constant stream of ammunition throughout the game.
Thus, we recommend getting the Increased Accuracy and Higher Damage Per Shot upgrades. Obtaining Increased Accuracy for two Weapon Parts drastically increases your likely hood of hitting headshots, thus saving you more ammo.
Increased Damage Weapon Upgrades are Definitely Worth It in Cultic
We also recommend getting the Higher Damage Per Shot upgrade after obtaining the Increased Accuracy because more damage means fewer shots spent on enemies.
Lever-Action Rifle
We recommend obtaining the Improved Lever and Deadeye weapon upgrades for the Lever-Action Rifle in Cultic.
Improved Lever
Improved Lever improves your cycling speed of the rifle, shortening the window between shots, thus increasing your damage per second.
Deadeye Weapon Upgrade
Next, we recommend the Deadeye upgrade because you gain a small amount of slow motion with every successful alt-fire headshot kill. This short slow-mo period gives players enough time to breathe and check their surroundings for their next priority target, which is a lifesaver in greater difficulties.
Custom Rounds May Not be Worth in Cultic on the Lever-Action Rifle
We would typically suggest obtaining the Super Magnum rounds, but we only used the Lever-Action Rifle to land headshots on Cultists while using other weapons to deal with tougher monsters.
Shotgun
We recommend getting the Barrel Choke and Improved Ejectors for the double-barrel Shotgun. Obtaining the Barrel Choke Upgrade will drastically tighten the spread, making each shot more precise and dealing more damage.
Additionally, getting the Improved Ejectors upgrade will reduce your reload time, giving you more damage per second, and due to the tightened spread, more pellets will land on target.
Combining these weapon upgrades will transform the Shotgun into the Cultic monster shredder it was always meant to be. It will become especially useful to defeat the hardest enemies in Cultic.
STEN
The STEN is one of our least used weapons in Cultic because the Handgun accomplishes the same task but spends less ammunition.
The Padded Stock Weapon Upgrade Allows You to Sustain Fire Longer in Cultic
Though the STEN is excellent for mid-range combat, the only Upgrade we recommend is the Padded Stock. The Padded Stock reduces the recoil, enabling you to hold down the trigger for much longer rather than needing to tap with burst fire.
HP Rounds for Improved STEN Damage
The STEN also fires pretty fast naturally and already holds 50 rounds without the magazine Upgrade. So, if you want to upgrade the STEN even further, investing in the HP Rounds for increased damage is the next best option.
Grenade Launcher
We recommend getting the cheap yet highly effective Slam Fire Upgrade for this wonderful Grenade Launcher. The Slam Fire Upgrade gives the Grenade Launcher a faster fire rate for using its new alt-fire. A faster fire rate means more damage, and the Grenade Launcher does enough damage already.
Increase Your AoE Damage
For a second upgrade, we recommend getting the Blast Radius Upgrade for the increased AOE, meaning less precious ammo is spent trying to hit multiple targets.
FG-42
Lastly, the FG-42 is one of the strongest weapons the player can use, and it packs a serious punch, but its ammo drops are rare. For the FG-42, we recommend getting the Enhanced Zoom Scope or the 7.92 Super Rounds.
Enhanced Zoom Scope Weapon Upgrade Helps You Counter Cultic’s Sharpshooters
The Enhanced Zoom Scope only costs one Weapon Part to Upgrade and gives an extended zoom to the FG-42. This extended zoom is amazing for countering Sharpshooter Cultists or any long-range threat.
Improved Round to Increase Damage
Next, the 7.92 rounds drastically improve the FG-42’s damage even further, making even the most formidable monsters like the Brute or the Incinerator Cultist easy to eliminate.
Wrap Up on the Best Weapon Upgrades in Cultic
That’s our list of all of the best weapon upgrades in Cultic. It’s difficult to find all of the Weapon Parts in a single playthrough, especially since most of the Weapon Parts are hidden behind secrets.
