A community manager from the Focus forum answered the question, “Is there crossplay [ in Insurgency Sandstorm ]?” with the following response: “We will support crossplay at launch for the same console systems (Xbox One-Series X / PS4-PS5). It is one of our top priorities to bring full crossplay between consoles, and we will keep you posted on that matter!“
