Nothing in the Warp ever makes sense, especially in Tzeentch’s realm. Warhammer 40K: Boltgun is a fantastic run-and-gun boomer shooter that follows a very simplistic but fun gameplay flow. Yet, Boltgun makes a sudden turn by introducing a maze puzzle in E1M8: Sanctum Magistratum. This short guide will show you how to easily navigate the Teleporter Maze puzzle without getting caught under Tzeentch’s influence.

Getting through the Teleporter Puzzle in Boltgun

Staring at teleporter from Boltgun game in Sanctum Magistratum level
Look for the Chaos Sigil near teleporters to know the right path to take to get through the maze.

Once you enter the sanctum, there will be multiple portals to choose from, but no matter which you pick, most will reset your progress or have you teleport on the ceiling and fall back to the starting point. While there is an easy solution to follow, Boltgun’s lack of guidance doesn’t point out any information for new players.

One of the starting portals will have a massive Chaos sigil above the door. This sigil is supposed to be the subtle hint that the marked door is the portal you are supposed to use to get through the teleporter maze puzzle in Boltgun. After exiting through the first marked portal, continue to follow the path and only use the portals that are marked with the Chaos sigil.

    Finishing the Teleporter Puzzle

Getting ready to finish the maze level in Tzeencht's realm
You will get dropped onto the side of a platform near the end of the teleporter maze in Boltgun.

After following through the correct gates, eventually, you will be dropped from the ceiling down onto a sideways platform. Be careful not to move fast or use your Dash after exiting the portal because you need to stick to the landing.

If you miss your footing, you will plummet back to the start of the teleporter puzzle. It might be difficult to spot while falling, but there is a small red Chaos sigil you need to land on, signifying the correct location you need to be to progress.

How to Get to the End

While standing on the sigil on the ground, look forward, and you will see another marking on a pillar. Jump onto the pillar and slowly shimmy around the pillar, and you will see another Chaos sigil on a broken bridge you need to jump to. You will know that it’s the correct bridge you need to jump to because several more Chaos sigils will lead your way to a final jump that will land you next to a portal turned sideways.

Carefully position yourself to run into the final portal after landing on the second bridge, and you will be teleported to the final walkway with the last portal in the teleporter puzzle. Be mindful of the slight gap in the final walkway, or you will fall through, and your progress will be reset.

Speedrunning the Teleporter Maze Puzzle in Boltgun

Speedrunning E1M8 of Warhammer 40K Boomer Shooter Game

There is a slightly faster route to get through the entire teleporter puzzle in Boltgun. Before entering the fourth portal, look over the edge on your left, and you can see the sideways portal that you would typically need to cross the second walkway to get over to.

You can keep half of the puzzle by simply jumping onto the platform next to the sideways portal, then using it to reach the final area of the teleporter puzzle.

Our first time navigating this level, we thought the jump skip was the intended way to progress, and only by replaying this level, we found out that there was a long path to finish this puzzle.

That’s our short guide for navigating the teleporter maze puzzle on Boltgun’s E1M8: Sanctum Magistratum level. This puzzle through us for a loop since previous levels in Boltgun didn’t hint at any gameplay elements outside of running and gunning daemons and heretics down, and this level has caught a lot of new players off guard.
