One of the more popularized gameplay features in recent years has been the introduction of the pinging system. Most battle royal, FPS, and competitive shooters alike have welcomed this system with open arms, and most players have become accustomed to this by now. It is no surprise that Halo Infinite would pick up on this gameplay trend and add a pinging system into their game.

How to Mark & Ping Enemies in Halo Infinite

The new ping system in Halo Infinite allows you to mark many different things. You can ping weapons and item spawns, areas of the map, or enemies directly. After every ping, you will receive a small amount of audio feedback, and your spartan will announce whatever you pinged. The default binding for pinging is on the d-pad for Console & ‘X’ on PC.

If an enemy Spartan was holding a power weapon, and you already have one or don’t wish to use it, you can ping it to your teammates instead. It’s better to ping weapons to focus your teammate’s attention to not let power weapons or equipment go to waste or have them fall into the hands of the enemy.

Pinging areas on a map also highlights the area’s name, helping players better understand the terms of corridors or different spots on the map for better callouts. Knowing the various sections of the map makes better callouts for more competitive play. Even if you don’t play to gain ranks in Halo Infinite, knowing callout spots still helps improve your skill level. As you can see, it’s still very important to mark your enemies and other locations in Halo Infinite to better communicate with your team.

When pinging an area that an enemy is currently in, your white ping will turn red and shows the number of how many enemies are near your ping. The new pinging feature helps make callouts accessible for all players, even for those who don’t wish to use voice comms to communicate.

There is a benefit for pinging your enemies outside of good communication; you are awarded points for utilizing this system. Like the Motion Sensor equipment, you gain 60 points for a marking assist whenever an enemy dies after you ping them.

    Marking Achievements

Two achievements help encourage players to use this new pinging system. Both achievements are straightforward to obtain.

‘One Shot, Top Mid’ is the first achievement for using Halo Infinite’s ping system. As we previously mentioned, different map sections are highlighted when pinged. These areas also are labeled next to your minimap. Each map as a section referred to as Top Mid. To get this easy achievement, all you need to do is ping an enemy who is currently in Top Mid.

The second achievement is called ‘Enemies Everywhere!’ To get this achievement, all you need is to ping a single location with three or more enemies. ‘Enemies Everywhere!’ is easy to obtain in BTB or in the Strongholds game type.

    Conclusion

That was our short guide on using the new Halo Infinite pings to mark your enemies. This new feature is beneficial in 4v4 and especially in Ranked Arena. Hopefully, more players will understand and utilize this system more in standard quick play. Hopefully, this guide was helpful or got you a few achievements.
